Finally footy is nearly here, only a couple of weeks to go. I'm actually super excited about the season ahead, not because I think we will win lots of matches but due to how young and exciting our list looks atm and how much unknown that brings. Seeing which kids take the next step, seeing the more experienced plays lead the way and seeing how our gamestyle develops under Mitchell is all exciting to me. No doubt we will have some rough patches throughout the year but as long as we see some decent development in our younger more inexperienced players then we will be happy.

Once again the regulars will know how it works but for anyone new to this, we all get together and vote after each game, handing out 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 votes. You can vote as soon as the game's finished or a few days later. I try and finalise the votes for the week by the Wednesday or Thursday. I will then collate all the votes from everyone and determine the overall 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 that we've come up with collectively.

Last year we saw a new Yabby winner emerge in Sicily and it's safe to say it was thoroughly deserved. Duke had a breakout season and stamped himself as a future midfield gun, coming in 2nd place. Dylan Moore finished 3rd and continued to impress, he has fast become one of our best and most important players. The ever reliable Hardwick and the gun forward Lewis rounded out the top 5.

Please ensure your votes are complete and clearly numbered or they cannot be counted. Likewise, keep all voting to this thread.

Round 1: Votes v Essendon

5. James Worpel
4. James Sicily
3. Cameron Mackenzie
2. Josh Ward
1. Luke Breust

A tough day at the office for the boys. Hard to find too many deserving with how little effort they put up. Worpel & Sicily were the 2 standouts. They got plenty of it and led the way at least. Worpel in particular was excellent and back to his best which was great to see. A bit of a gap back to 1st gamer Mackenzie and young gun Ward. Only a couple of votes separated them. Breust managed to just beat our Hardwick by 3 votes to land the last vote of the week.
