"If they say to me, 'Do you think Carlton tanked?', I would say, 'I don't think they did'." Liberatore told SEN yesterday.

Well we either tanked or we didn't - make up your #$%^ing mind son!

He is an ignoramus. What a fool he has made of himself.

Holy shit Libba, the mud has already stuck pal. Our name has been sullied and the ********s who keep saying we tanked will just switch off and ignore stuff that doesnt suit them. I bet they say that Dick threatened Libba and now Libba is lying because he is scared. I read crap like that on another site.

Ever seen an ant trying to get out of a hole in the sand?

Maybe Libba's lawyer called him and said... you're an f'in idiot, the Blues are peeved and if they seek legal action against you, you're toast.

Libba I hope the club crushes you and any good terms you felt you had when you left the club are gone and now the money we'll sue you for will hopefully put a nice dent in our loans.

F you Libba!

Like most dwarves ...he lives in a fairyland.
Libba should do some blow with Carey. At least then he can blame the whole sorry saga on drugs. Seems the fashionable thing to do these days.

"If they say to me, 'Do you think Carlton tanked?', I would say, 'I don't think they did'." Liberatore told SEN yesterday.

The 1990 Brownlow medallist said he did not expect such a huge reaction.
"It wasn't something I thought would make such a big headline," he said.

I thought it was a Bit Suss on thursday Night I bet Libbas regretting opening his Mouth on Thursday Night I Wonder how much the Media will pay him for the Story I suspected It was The Media who came up with the word Tanking Just to sell Papers I didn't think Brett Ratten would stoop so low he's not that silly Clubs should sack anyone who tanks the Games or impose Massive Fines :thumbsu:

Quite a few opposition supporters here will have to eat their words.
Be thankful there's some that can be objective when discussing other teams.

:)

TBH, once I saw the replay of the interview I couldn't understand the fuss.

Libba didn't come accross as someone who knew much about a team he coached and it was pretty embarassing. I heard his performance yesterday and if I was the AFL I would cancel the meeting.

I can't believe this bloke put his hand up to be a senior coach.

We should have known then he was delusional.

How does this read
"I can clearly remember the last couple of weeks, our discussions at match committee were nowhere near as (in depth) as they were in the past."
in light of this
Carro said:
They say at Carlton his absences in the final weeks of the season, when the Blues were allegedly tanking, were so frequent that he had lost touch with what was really going on there anyway.

yet Carro is still calling for a full enquiry. Can't wait to see footy Classified on Monday.

I wonder how Fatprick is going organising his Royal commission?

The threshold for being a "respected" journalist in footy is being lowered by the second.

There was only one loser out of this episode- Libba. Hutchy managed to get Libba to lie in his "interview" on TFS, and used careful editing to maximize the impact. Libba was bitter over his sacking from the Blues, and Hutchy manipulated this anger to get him to bend the truth. against his former employee. The Judd interview was heavily publicized on channel 9 in the lead up, and they slipped this fabrication just before, to maximise the impact. Hutchy "won" because he achieved his goal - maximum publicity for TFS and himself, with most of the legal exposure shifted onto Libba. The Blues won because it gave them a perfect opportunity to present the real facts. And they did this swiftly and professionally. Libba now realises he's been setup by Hutchy, and is now backtracking. :)

Spot on Parrot. Libba was played. Pure and simple. He was either too clueless or too consumed by his bitterness towards the club to figure out what was really going on.

Hutchy and The Footy Show got their "scoop", and their man.

With his coaching career kaput, you wonder if this and the attack on Campbell Rose is just Libba's sad, deluded attempt to make a name for himself as a heavy hitter in the media?

We tanked so what !!! every season teams do so I am not sure what the big deal is.

exactly. we tanked at the end of last year and to argue otherwise is just silly. of course we did, and we got Kruezer and Judd. smart work.

teams have tanked for at least the last 5 years.

Wallet virtually owned up to tanking the last game last year.

I vividly remember collingwood being up by 4 goals against North with 4 minutes to play one year and lost. Malthouse was dragging players off left right and centre. The result was a priority pick.

there are heaps of other examples.

The bottom line is there will always be some tanking in the last few rounds. Tanking isn't match fixing but it is a reality.

Does anybody think that in the last 2 rounds this year there won't be tanking going on to get hold of that Fijian ruckman kid?

Oh...and the other bottom line is that Libba is finished. A dog on the field and a dog off it. and now its even apparent that he's a stupid dog as well.

Apart from your opinion......I'm just interersted to know how you know we tanked?
What was it that gave it away?

So giving up big leads to lose narrowly constitutes tanking..........Hmm.......did Essendon tank in round 3 last year when we came back from 48 points down?

If tanking ='s not picking your best side, taking fev off at critcal times in games (Collingwood he had 6 goals 6 and came off and Essendon), sending guys to surgery with minor injuries, an assistant coach stating he felt we tanked and an ex captain (Kouta) saying it would be better we lose, MATCH COMMITTEMEE MEMBERS SAYING 'Tanks very much' then yes we tanked.

LOL !!!

If tanking ='s not picking your best side Please detail who got a game that didn't deserve one? We were crap and had no depth. Simple. It's not like we had the equivalent of Jono Brown and Daniel Kerr running around in the reserves for the last 6 weeks!, taking fev off at critcal times in games (Collingwood he had 6 goals 6 and came off and Essendon) Again, find this one very very tenuous., sending guys to surgery with minor injuries Which guys? All players who had surgery required it., an assistant coach stating he felt we tanked Incorrect. Libba has now backflipped and said on record that we didn't tank, so clearly his opinions are worthless.and an ex captain (Kouta) saying it would be better we lose This was after Kouta retired and had no influence on the side in any way. I felt the same way too FWIW. Still not proof we tanked i'm afraid., MATCH COMMITTEMEE MEMBERS SAYING 'Tanks very much' Unproven comments that were more tongue in cheek than anything else.then yes we tanked.

LOL !!!

LOL at u Magnificence ^^^^

You mustn't have seen a replay of the Collingwood game, because Fev was clearly injured and in distress if you saw him grimace after he contested a mark.

Kouta has said Carlton didn't tank.

When did Kouta become a coach and a member of the football department?

You shouldn't question doctors sending players off to have surgery when they have medical records to back them up.

Someone should put Libba before Judge Judy.

Libba is bitter about being sacked and just looking for a headline.

Liberatore is sullying the name of the young players he singled out and Brett Ratten who always played to win. You don't go public and throw mud at a former employer and people you worked with after you've been sacked.

It smacks of sour grapes.

Libba is no whistle blower.

Liberatore is an angry ant and no better than Grant Thomas.
