Deledio: who is going to play on him

Do you have anyone that can play with him on the half back flank because sometimes he will do short stints down there

i would say Jackson if played in middle

but you might see Bannister as his shadow for the whole day whether forward or midfield

though i wouldnt mind seeing Simmo take him when Deledio goes in center

we need to make sure he is hurt on the counter attack and needs to be chasing our player on the rebound to nulify him!!!

Who is going to play on Deledio on Thursday

Pretty easy matchup actually. You just need to put a tall, fast midfield type on him and apply a little physical pressure and he goes missing. Walker would have been perfect. Anderson would have been great, but is recovering from injury. Grigg and Russell are alternatives. :)

To what? Parrot you're hilarious. Dildo will f**k u pussies (get it?).

Deledio went backwards in 2007. He keeps telling us how great he is, even saying in the press recently he'll be a great midfielder in the future blah blah blah, but the fact is he got the sooks when the opposition put a tag on him, and requested a role on the HF flank to escape the tag. Early last year he got the sooks when Terry put him on the HB flank to help the team structure. He's rapidly becoming, a selfish, soft non-team oriented player. Disappointing. :)

haha ill pay that :thumbsu:
good one

I had to laugh at the Tiges Open Media Day. Terry and Brown said "..we're going to let our actions do the talking this year, rather that talk...". So I guess that's why...

1. Terry said they'll make the finals in 2008
2. Brown said the Tigers would thrash the Blues next Thursday
3. Deledio said in the press, that Tambling is going to have a boom year this year
4. Deledio said he'll be a great midfielder in the future

Some habits die hard it seems. :)

If he plays up forward like he has throughout the pre-season, i'd expect to see someone like Thornton man up on him. Slightly taller, quick and able to beat the smaller bodied players a high percentage of the time.

He's an option. We actually have quite a few tall, fast defenders. Bower is another option. Real shame Joey Anderson has had an interrupted pre-season. He'd be perfect - tall, very fast, and extremely aggressive and great on the rebound. :)

I'll have to side against you in the matter of Bower potentially playing on Deledio. He has the pace, yes, but I think a little bit op complacency may settle in on him early playing so deep in defence, potentially letting the Tigers get out to a jump start. If he was slowly worked into the position i'd be happy to give him a go.

Bower's an interesting player. Accountability has always been his weakness, although improving. BUT, he is very creative, backs himself and thrives on taking his opponent on. Bit like Waite in that regard. Bower also has the capability to play further up the ground. :)

I really like him as a player but playing Deledio up forward is just a sign that the rest of your midfield and leadership could not protect him in the heat of battle last year, making his form slip. In order to give him some confidence forward pocket is a good bet at the moment, but if Johnson and Tuck were AFL quality they'd have protected him. Coughlan back may be good for him.

In the end, playing one of your better players out of the action is just a sign of giving up before you start. I have no doubt Deledio will be back in the midfield more often than not by Round 6. You need him. He is a very good player and will be better in time, or in a better environment.

True, very true, I just don't think it's a good time to chuck him down back unless they've been working on it during the off season. I'd go with Waite or Thornton to pick him up:thumbsu:.

pity his Richmond big footy contingent couldn't heed his advice. They still cant shut up over there.

anyways i think its spot on over here, if played up forward; Bannister. In the middle; Jackson.

But true, Dildo wont be a BIG threat. He's just a little sook

Only Bower's got the hair to go with him I reckon.
LMAO

Bower has been working out all summer .. have a look at the size of him now !!
