They have Cross and WestBut then again that was geelong's midfield... Doggies dont have as many hard ball winners.

As opposed to Ablett, Bartel, Chapman, Selwood Ill take Cross and West anyday. But then again Doggies are in form and probably expect a win. They have Cross and West
Not at the moment, unless Knights puts Hocking straight into the senior team after coming off injury. Doubt he'd risk it though.Crap, do we have anyone else we can bring in to win the hard ball?

No changes for mine this week. Hocking is still a week or two away, same Gumbleton. Why change a winning side?
They just beat St. Kilda, the team with arguably the best tall forward lineup in the league. I cant see how stretching the defense will help us.Well if that is the case
Out: Jetta
In: JJ or Johns, could see it going both ways- one way to stretch the Dogs is to put tall forwards in, JJ would add to the clearances or lack of clearances. Either one will do. As long as it aint Slattery!
St.Kildas forwards have been crap so far If they were on song the match ups alone should have destoryed Doggies. They just beat St. Kilda, the team with arguably the best tall forward lineup in the league. I cant see how stretching the defense will help us.
lot of discussion for jetta replacement - far too many suggestions of injured players. if they are to replace him with a midfielder the only ones i'm aware that will be available are j.johnson and myers. the other option is to promote magin off the rookie list. personally i'd give myers a go - quick, dynamic with a booming left foot kick. i've really like what i've seen of him at training and he also looked good in nab cup.
Betts best quarter was the 1st when Rama was playing on him
There were countless times when I saw Betts get the easy ball simply because Reimers could not keep up. I think Reimers showed all the signs of being a good player but clearly lacked the speed to keep up with Betts and should not have been played in a defensive role.
I guess the fact that Betts had a good game in general just annoys me because I categorise him in a similar mould to Alan Didak, aka a little prick and thus was fuming whenever he was allowed to get the easy/cheap ball.
One person who I was impressed with was McPhee. Thought he ran hard all night, took some good marks and set up some good plays going forward. For me there is too much McPhee bashing on this board.
Worried about who will pick up Brad Johnson this week, he is renound for carving up the Bombers and can see us playing him back into form. Thoughts?
Myers is still only at test coming off injury probably start at Bendigo
Betts did get some footy out on the wing, mainly because he is quicker than Reimers but his impact after the 1st quarter was quite minimal.
Agree with McPhee, played a good game, his decision making could be better, maybe he needs a bit more confidence with his stab passing to leading forwards but he run all night and gave an option all night.
Been racking my brain with B.Johnson myself, definately a hard match-up, almost be prepared to pick Tayte Pears and see how he went.
You play your best defender on the opposition's best forward. At the moment that means Ryder plays on Murphy. Rama probably plays on Johnno. McVeigh to play on Cooney. Sorry to impose.
I like the match-ups but no way in hell Fletcher and Michael aren't getting anyone. You play your best defender on the opposition's best forward. At the moment that means Ryder plays on Murphy. Rama probably plays on Johnno. McVeigh to play on Cooney. Sorry to impose.
