Oy buddies, on the Williams topic don't be surprised if he plays in the midfield Clarko's commented that he intends to giving him a stint in the midfield so this could probably be his week. Hawthorn usually like to play Boyle at CHF with Roughead and Franklin both in the goal square, probably Williams to if he is playing as a forward.

No he's not, not yet anyway.

Having said that, I havent seen Bellchambers play, but there is no ruckman that can come into the competition and have a body big enough to withstand the rigours of AFL footy. Laycock may be a lazy spud, but he has a big body which is good in contested situations. We need that ATM.

But he has been playing just as well as Lazycock in the 2nds. That and he's physically ready, so why not?

I just think he should get another preseason under his belt before we blood him. That and it gives Laycock a chance to prove himself. I havent written him off just yet, and neither has Knights obviously.

Agree with this. Laycock does have the ability to play at this level and it is to be hoped aspell in the twos might have got his mind right. We need to put him out there to find if he is worth persevering with beyond this year. Although I have seen very little of Bellchambers those that have seem to consider he is still a fair way off it and needs to do a fair bit of learning at Bendigo . Although Hawks rucks are low profile they're both powerful men and a first gamer might get crucified.

I swear half the posters on here just throw someone they haven't seen play into the side simply so a bloke they don't like doesn't get a game.

Bellchambers is not and I repeat IS NOT ready. He wont come in anytime soon over Laycock so get over it, why won't he come in? Because he is NOT READY.

He's got a big frame, and he's worked his fitness up to get around in the VFL, but there's a huge gap between getting in the VFL and getting around in the AFL.

On top of that, I don't think now's the time to bring in another debutant. What we need is some continuity, and bringing in a new guy when we've little idea how he'll fare goes against that principle.

Laycock's had a shocking year, but he's still young and he's still got ability. He needs to be given every chance this year to show what he's got.

Bellchambers is 19, he'll get plenty of chances when he's more ready to take them.

agree make no mistake bellchambers is a development player.. he shouldnt get a game this year. laycock has had a poor year but remember back to the matches he dominated such as his 28 hitout 15 possession 2 goal match against melbourne last year, his 20 possesions 18 hithouts and a goal last year, and im sure he dominated an anzac day match once.

he has great potential people seem to forget that, if he could just show a bit of angro out on the feild andw seem like he cares he could be a great ruckmen
