Think your selling Matt Deboer a bit short. He could easily go top 10, couldnt imagine him dropping past melbournes priority pick. If we let him past that id be filthy.

ziebell is probably a better forward than johnston and plays in the midfield, so carlton will pick him before lewis johnston. also i would rather heyne or o'keefe before rockcliff.

I don't think Geelong will select a young mid fielder as its first draft choice.

I think Stephen Wells will look at succession planning for the full back and centre half back positions.

With the draft being scarce for talent in the next 3 years, I think AFL Clubs would look at improving the teaching facilities and education processes of its coaching department.

Picking the best kids in the draft is the first step in rebuilding the side. The next step is for the club to have the right educational processes to teach the players how to play football in the right way and for the educational developmental processes to allow for the positive development of a young football's talent.

A youngster picked at no 40 or 50 can still become a champion footballer if he is taught in the right way and is committed to becoming a top AFL footballer.

THE GOVERNOR

Is it a Bigfooty rule to give West Coast Stephen Hill and Michael Walters?

It is true, both are likely, but I am yet to see any real surprises.

I reckon Broadbent might be a candidate to go early 2nd round. Modern footballer.

Anyone think Johnston at #6 is a bit of a stretch?

Depends on if Carlton draft based on need or best avaliable. Carlton are most likely to go for the best avaliable and therefore pick up someone else other than Johnstone.

Though if Carlton uses thier second pick to obtain Warnock then it may not be too far fetched if they decide to use thier first pick on a need. What Carlton mainly need is a tall forward to take the load off Fevola. Johnstone fits that bill at that stage of the draft.

Melbourne's first two picks are pretty decent.
I think it would be a bit of a stretch for us to go Roughead at #19, but if we were to get Mitch Brown at #35 I'd be ok with it.

Walters & Swift are both too low in my opinion. Both first rounders, maybe Swift a slight chance of being an early second round pick.
The rest of it looks pretty good.

He could be a possible bolter. Carlton need a tall, strong marking CHF that can turn a game in their direction so it is a possibility. Hartlett I don't think will make it for you guys unfortunately, so your mob desperately needs a tall, strong goal-kicker to help out Fevalenko sooner rather than later so you can become a real threat.

If Hartlett won't be their, then either Ziebell or Hurley will be and we should definitely take either one over Johnston.

What odds would you people give on one of Ziebell or Hartlett being available at pick 7?

I really want one of them.

All seems to depend on whether Port take Vickery.

I too would love Ziebell but IMO he wont be around. I rekon Port/Freo will snap him up. Im sceptical about Hartlett being around as well. Oh well...Blease it is:thumbsu:

No offense mate but if we got Johnston and Rockliff with our first 2 picks i'll be sick, especially if we pass on Ziebell.

You got that right.

Essendon: David Zaharakis

Carlton: Tom Rockliff

Brisbane: Nick Heyne

Richmond: Rhys O'Keefe

North Melbourne: Ryan Scheonmakers

Adelaide: Matthew Broadbent

Collingwood: Tom Swift

I will hand in my membership if Swift goes in the second round and Essendon dont take him if they have the chance.
