Re: vickery post cockie and hislop
KP defenders: Thursfield, McGuane, Moore, Rance, Silvester.
KP forwards: Riewoldt, Hughes, Richo, Putt, Pattison.
KP Utility: Schulz Polak
KP forward/Ruck: Simmonds, Graham
Thats 14 in total who are capable of filling a KP spot if needed. If we were to land both Vickery and Post as Burgan suggests that would make it 16.
Vickery would play as a forward/ruck for the first couple of seasons while he developed strength and Post would be developed as a defender. If that were to happen then it would allow us to play Moore as a mid sized rebounding defender which is the role I think he will be best suited to in future.
I think people forget that we were using Schulz and Polak as KP utility types. Where we could swing them either way depending on need. When you look at it like that our KP stocks aren't as bad as people think. If we did take Post I would like to see him developed up foward, or go back to the days of playing Schultz as a foward.
We already have:
- Rance - 193cm 88kg
- Thurstfield - 191cm 86kg
- McGuane - 191cm 88kg
- Moore - 189cm 89kg
- Silvester - 190cm 90kg
Plus
- Schultz - 193cm 94kg
- Bowden - 188cm 90 kg
- Polak - 194cm 94kg
That's a large portion of players in our team who play key position defensive roles. Although the one negative is the fact that the tallest of the 5 genuine prospects is Rance at only 193cm
However, down the other end of the ground we only have:
- Richo 195cm 101kg
- Hughes 193cm 94kg
- Riewoldt 192cm 88kg
Plus the unproven
- Putt 202cm 89kg
- Pattison 196cm 98kg
In summary, we are screaming out for key position fowards, while our defence looks alot more stable.
In regards to Hilsop, I would prefer that we didn't pick him up. The guy doesn't have great pace or great kicking skills. He seems more like a Coughlan/Thompson/Tuck/Cockie (if we get him) type player. Add to this his injury and suspension troubles and it doesn't bode well for him
Would be stocked with both Vickery and Cockie if we were to get them

Nothing to lose and it will be his last chance if he doesn't get picked up this week. I'd get him in the psd for sure
