Sitting at G on Sunday I was certainly cursing the AFL. Twilight games in Melbourne should only be at the Dome, for comfort for supporters and to improve the quality of the game for everyone (including players). Love the Dome. Plus we play well there!
It's good to play on the G, because that's where the big ones are, it's a different shape and have nature effects on it.
Plus it's the Halow Turf.
But Twighlight games...... iffy.
The D's home ground is the G though.

In the 3 trips I've been to Etihad (haven't sat up on Level 3 before), the worst seats I've had were the back row of level 1 - the level 2 seating blocks a fair bit of the aerial view - made cheering a goal through somewhat interesting.
Level 2 seats are just awesome seats - padded, fantastic view, right on top of the action.

Yeah I learnt that the hard way - and the AFL called them 'Prime' seats (it was the infamous final against Hawthorn we copped those seats). It was funny though thinking 'is it going through for a goal' then watching the ball appear to fall out of the sky into the goals
Hence why I'm reluctant to buy level 1 seating. Would rather chance it and try and let level 3 GA on the day.

Level 3 seating is now a available for purchase for anyone interested.
Done the drive over 30 times.
About a tank and a half each way so 200 odd bucks of petroleum.
Most big hotels have parking.
Public transport is very good. (not for getting to work on time, but getting around melbourne is easy as pie)
Essendon v Adelaide has a 50% chance of selling out, buy em mate.
Either you've got a seriously heavy foot, or you drive something that drinks petrol like a Hummer!
Melbourne-Adelaide is what? 650-700km (each way)?
I'd probably bank on about $130 in petrol for the highway, plus whatever driving you plan on doing around town during your stay. That's based on my own car, which is about middle of the range in terms of fuel consumption. It has a smallish 6-cylinder engine, so not as economical as a 4-pot nor as thirsty as a V8.

So basically inbetween.
I may be overcompensation though because I usually take about 300kg of gear in the car with me.

Agree Ive done the drive plenty of times on just a tank of juice driving a Ford Falcon, did it xmas last year in a full loaded station wagon!!! You would also be surprised to know the four cyclinders arent that economical on the open road you would find it would 'chew' fuel due to revving continually at around 2600rpm to maintain 100kph, where as you V6 will stay around 2100 rpm.

Besides the cheer squad, no.
I'm just waiting to Ticketmaster to offer seats on level 3 a little closer to the middle of the ground (currently they're offering aisle 6, row B), or at least down the Adelaide cheersquad end of the ground, before I purchase them.

My first two experiences were both Crow wins at the Cattery
Apart from that; watch your speed around Horsham.
