Nadal was an absolute joke. Didn't even try to attack till the very end. So defensive, took the ball so far back in the court.

Yep, I'd love to see the end winner count between the two, would almost be very surprised if Nadal broke into double digits. Davydenko controlled almost every point, very deserving winner.

Very unsatisfactory tournament.

I don't think there is hate for Davydenko beyond the understanding that he has been top 5 so long without actually doing anything memorable.

Nadal? 5 successive losses VS top 10 opposition....if Davydenko couldn't beat a man in that form when would he ever win?

Davydenko has been my favourite player for a couple of years now, so, like winning Paris and Miami, and making last years Masters Cup final, this has made my week.

The hate is all largely from noobs or casual fans, people very hard on him for his consistently high ranking with no grand slam finals, or because he just isnt the pin up that others tend to be.
Maybe sometimes i like the underdog, i dont know, but since mid 06 ive been a big Davydenko fan, didnt mind him before that either.

Davydenko's net play has improved imo, I used to think of him as one dimensional.

I still don't like his serve a whole heap. I was laughing at Nadal basically standing up against the back wall to recieve Davydenko's relitively tame serve. IMO he should've been attacking the serve.

35 to 9 I think it was, quite pathetic from Nadal.

Full credit to Davydenko, deserved the win. Nadal is really struggling, looks to be moving well enough but he's just got very little right now.

I cant remember a player that was so comfortable in the air, with general net game, driving volleys and smashes.

And that cross court backhand is deadly!!!

should be interesting how he does at the Masters Cup in this form, i assume he qualifies?
