Alex' dad and Barry are first cousins. He is not a ruckman, more wing /onballer
Alex is a good athlete and does a great beep test (over 15) He was supposed to be an over age kid for Stingrays this year but did an ACL and missed the whole season.

I would have thought that the fact that he is being considered for the rookie draft at least indicates we thought about father/son picking him with our last pick. But as you guys know, we picked all our ND players based on kicking skills. Hes a nuggety back pocket with a decent tank who can find the ball, good hands, is quick enough... but is short (178cm I think) and has average/poor foot skills (hard to tell exactly how bad as he has played as an in and under mid/backman who rarely has a clear possession). But he is courageous and has a bit of mongrel about him so he could be a handy tagger.

Think it's just the AFL site being slow/disorganized. Players often get added to the on afl.com list weeks after they've been training with that afl club.
