Richmond held a rookie search session which contained about 22 undrafted youngsters of which the best will be drafted with selection #2 in the PSD. Straight from the recruitment managers mouth (Francis Jackson). I dunno what kids that involved though. I would imagine Dare, Grimes, Panos, Hartigan and co.

Are they allowed to do that because I thought they needed premmision from the AFL to do that?

That's not what this mornings paper said. It said they have a few boys training down there and a few more would be invited this week.

If this "search session" happened it must have been on the weekend.

Richmond had a session with a group of about 20 Friday morning. From that group they were to pick 6-8 kids to train until the Rookie Draft on the 15th. Because it was after the draft I don't think they would need permission from the AFL.

RICHMOND

Josh Free (North Ballarat)
Alex Goodingham (Dandenong Stingrays)

Are the above lads related to their AFL noted namesakes, Tony Free & Barry Goodingham?

They guy has obvious talent, let's just hope if Carlton take a punt on him he can put it all together and carve a semi-descent career for himself.

Well, he's giving himself every opportunity to get selected by Carlton. Training very very well. Time will tell if we select him or not.

Just on some of the NT boys.

NORTHERN Territory footballer Relton Roberts is on his way to Tigerland.
The Wanderers star has been invited to train with the Richmond Football Club ahead of the 2009 AFL Rookie Draft.
He is one of six Territorians to be asked to train with AFL squads.
Bradley Palipuaminni, Mitchel Taylor and Damien Roe will train with Port Adelaide while Liam Patrick and Roland Ah Chee has been invited to train with the new Gold Goast team.

Good to hear.
He was fairly good last year with Norwood at SANFL level, but seemed to go backwards this year.
Would be happy to see him make it. Or at least get a second chance.
