Worst games of 2009

Personally I find Sydney, the most boring team to have played the game. They are never high scoring, too many stoppages.

Mind you, there really aren't many exciting games these days. There is no passion on the footy field anymore.

I disagree the Dees faithful sung the Tigers song with great passion when Richmond won.
Sorry your right, that was in the outer and not on the field.

In the 2nd half of the season, clearly it has improved. But under NC generally, it's dull football. Lets see how they play in 2010

Adelaide can play some scintillating football, but at other times they can be really negative. When they played us at Etihad in round 16 I expected them to really challenge us, but after a bright start it was like their players realised they weren't going to win and switched to damage limitation, turning it into a dull contest.

Hopefully Craig realises they'll never win anything playing that way, and has them going gung-ho for the 2010 Premiership (I'd love to see a Saints-Crows gf rematch).

from a disappointing point of view as a non aligned fan wanting a contest:

1. QF - St Kilda v Collingwood. Dull, dull, dull with St Kilda strangling the life out of the insipid pies with master coach Malthouse insisting on employing his defeatist boundarly line gameplan that played right into saints hands. Depressing to watch for its predictability.

2. Semi final Dogs v Bears - Bears never in it against a more polished opponent

3. Round 1 Carlton v Richmond - while I like a Richmond train wreck as much as the next guy, this was disappointing esp given the incredible build up to the match

Swans VS St Kilda Round 1 was a horrible match, sticking with the tradition of horrible first round encounters between the two sides.

Luckily the two sides made up for it later on in the year with one of the games of the season.

We were in a few stinkers. The second derby has already been mentioned, but the first derby was pretty woeful as well. We also had a narrow scrape against the Dees at home in a very ordinary game of footy.

Depsite it being in the top 9 games, I genuinely found the Sydney vs West Coast game quite boring, maybe because I thought we'd easily win, but even when you guys took the lead, I still thought we'd win...

Round 4 North v Essendon - was seriously woeful as a footy match. Both sides spent the entire game turning it over, or making incredibly stupid mistakes. Honestly don't think I've ever felt so unsatisfied after a win.

Round 5 Adelaide v Melbourne - not sure how many people could derive enjoyment from this match. Was flat from start to finish.

Round 12 Adelaide v North Melbourne - struggled to sit through it. Scoreless in a quarter, never looked worse this year.

Don't see what people disliked about the Adelaide/Fremantle blowout - I quite enjoyed that!

Adelaide v Fremantle - That was one of the worst games i have ever seen in 2009.

As usual AG beats me to it, Melbourne vs Sydney was atrocious. Horrible day in Canberra, horrible ground, and two teams playing horribly.

Swans vs Port was pretty ordinary too, we had it won by quarter time and the last 3 quarters were just junk time essentially.

They were pretty bad matches.

Didn't see the Adelaide-Melbourne match but was listening to it on the radio with a mate who is a Demons supporter and it sounded like an absolute shocker. Of the matches I watched all the way through probably Essendon - Western Bulldogs. Bulldogs were never going to lose and I just found it boring.

Bahaha Melbourne vs Adelaide for sure. I had about 4 layers of clothing on and was still shivering. Bored. Cold. Disapointing. Actually thought we might lose the game to Melbourne towards the end which is pretty sad.

There were other crap games, but I didn't have to sit in those conditions for them.
