I've only got 6 left with a full team. The 2nd option would leave me with quite a bit of cash as well but not sure about using the extra trade. Problem is Howlett not playing is alot of money sitting there not really doing anything.

With a full team I would do the 2 trades. Then sit on everything for a while, only trade for LTI's. Not only do you get the best ruckman, but allows for a much more flexible bench + cash in bank.

Lots of people seem to think that Hampson is ahead of Warnock with better form in the VFL.

Warnock was being considered for selection this week which leads me to believe Warnock is higher in the pecking order

I'd be holding onto Ziebell purely for his DP at this stage, providing you have someone to DP him with. The ability to swing him between mids and fwds might save you a trade in the final weeks.
Plus I don't see Maguire returning anytime soon and even if he does he won't make that much more cash, so I'd offload him now as 286K is a fair amount of dough to not be providing any return.

At the moment, no I don't have anyone to DP with in the Mids. I have a plethora of Mids/Fwds in my forward line in Pav, O'Keefe, Goodes and Rohan on the bench. If I were to keep Ziebell then I would most likely be upgrading Rohan or keeping Ziebell for the year. Obviously with Ziebell being 100k higher in price it would make him easier to upgrade.

my team is as follows

s.fisher,goddard,enright,kelly,hodge,carratz,waters---strijk/silvagni

bartel,ablett,hayes,montagna,swan,barlow-----gys/banner

sandilands, cox----warnock/some hack

pavlich,okeef,gia,franklin,podsiadly, rockliff,gumbleton---jeansh/JONO BROWN

35 k in the bank with 9 trades...

any ideas on how to get chapman into the side....i have lots of my own but not sure which is the best way...dont rlly want to make a trade that will deplete my depth on the bench....however a gysberts to mcneil in the next few weeks will do the job...any other ideas....

aswell should i b keeping jono brown...

the only real way is gumbleton (who has peaked) > rookie then upgrade one of your fwds to chappy. But since jaensch isn't getting games then your bench is weak.

Got 9 trades left and was going to go Gumbleton>Rookie, Martin>Swan/Ablett to finish my team off next week. But now Kreuzer has gone down....atm I am hoping that Higgins will be back after the split round then I will stay with this trade and move Tippett from my forward bench to cover Kreuzer for a week before trading Kreuzer out. I would have 7 trades left so could probably afford to downgrade someone and upgrade Kreuzer to Cox (though i'm worried about WCE icing Cox)

If Higgins doesn't get up I might have to delay getting my mid a week and bring a ruckman in first. Any advice? I am currently counting on keeping Rockliff as my 7th forward unless he starts to tire and in that case it can probably be a straight trade/slight upgrade to a gun

Silvagni is long overdue. I'll downgrade to a playing rookie (Henderson?) and then upgrade Gumby. You'll have 380K odd in the kitty so Chappy is out of reach for the time being. You'll need a double downgrade to get him, but it does put someone like Rioli/Franklin/Harvey in reach. I'll be pretty confident that Strijk will hold his place for a few weeks given his debut performance.

I don't want Chapman because he took way too long to come down in price.

Now it's entering the back end of the season and that's when Chappy has his problems.

I think it could be better to wait for a nice discount on Riewoldt. He'll be back to his best in no time. :)

What are your guys opinion of Henderson? I'm basically trading him in as my 9th forward to join Fyfe on the bench and to generate some cash. I've got Phil Davis in the backline - so possible DP options availible.

I'm really looking for job security rather than cash cows.

If he hasn't got good job security, any recommendations for other good rookie forwards as downgrade opportunities in the near future [3-4ish rounds]?

one thing i've tried to do this season is only go after the best of the best...not interested in harvey etc....chappy is my man....lots of hard thinking to do if i wanna get chappy in without compromising bench depth....

jeansh is playing good footy in resies so mayb hel come back in soon and allow me to sell gumbleton...

anyway...i'm surprised that this thread is still going so strong....every week i expect less and less trade talk as every1 runs out of trades...but it never does......

JB, I see a little error in supposedly saying you wouldn't pick up a bloke because he's injury prone, but instead saying you'll pick up a bloke who's spent 3 months out with a hamstring injury.

Anyway, Chappy is a must. He's much fitter this year and I'd back him to play the rest of it.

Huh???

Do you look at breakevens??

Riewoldt is gonna be dirt cheap... all about the value.

If Chappy was at the price Riewoldt is going to be in 2 rounds I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger.

Paying over $400k for anybody you had better be damn sure they are going to score 105+ consistantly.

You missed my point.

You're not going to take Chapman because he MIGHT get injured (which is fine, different people play the game with different risk profiles and both strategies are valid) but you will take a bloke coming off a 3 month hamstring.

Of course his (Riewoldt) price will drop, but there are plenty of other premiums around price dropping without the injury concerns, so I don't see how that makes getting Riewoldt a good trade.

On Chapman, he will indeed score 105 + consistently as the stats support.

I agree, Chapman is a solid pick. But as history shows, he is injury prone, and I'm sure we are going to see Geelong begin to rest players as the season draws to a close.

I'm not getting Riewoldt back, unless I'm *absolutely* sure he is back to his fighting best.

I'll back words from the man's own mouth that he's over his hamstring issues.

He's more likely to see a week off for head ramming than a hamstring.

Chapman vs. Volt?
I'm looking at getting both. :D

IMO you must have 1 tho.
Just like you must have 1 of Ablett or Swan (& 1 of Goddard/Hodge FTM).
The better teams will have all of these guys. :thumbsu:

Anyone who advises against this is just pissed off chat they don't or can't.
Where else are you going to get that 2500+ ceiling for finals?

Not sure what to do about Brown. I've only got 3 trades left and have Hitchcock as cover, considering Brown could be out a lot longer than 4 weeks I was considering doing a straight swap to Rockliff as i only have 10,000 in the bank. Thoughts???
