Re: Welcome to North - Cameron Pederson

That seems to be the case, unless there are thoughts on having him as a flexible KP player.

Car Keys is breathing down his neck and now we have picked up Car Keys Jnr and Pederson. I find it hard to believe that this is an accident..

Re: Welcome to North - Cameron Pederson

With Lawton, Hartigan (?) and van Bertouch training with us, I got the distinct sense we'd be going for a bigger KPP type. Pederson was, until the last few days, pencilled to go to the GC. Seems he was the best of these types?!

I notice Bluey McKenna says he can play both ends of the ground and he was playing in the middle a bit too by the looks of the video, so a versatile KPP type. Only query for me is his age, but the upside is that he's ready to go.

Edit: Looking again at his age, Richardson and McKinley both born '87 too.

Well long term we are hoping one of Tarrant or Black stands up at FF so I think its good insurance.

Nathan Ablett = the new Shane Harvey.

Nathan Ablett = Premiership player.

Shane could only have dreamt.

Good luck Kamerun Petersun !!

Re: Welcome to North - Cameron Pederson

Shouldnt be a surprise that we took a KPD, it really remained as our one major need in our young growing side, with Narni the only guranteed player to hold up one of the KPD spots. Tarrant, Delaney etc. all need to take their games to the next level, so I am all for the recruitment of another to force them to go to the next level, or take over them. I'm sorry to all those believers, but a FB/CHB combo of Thompson/Grima was never going to win a premiership.

Now I think that our list as it stands does not have any major needs.

Key Defenders - Grima, Pederson, Delaney1, Delaney2, Tarrant, Hansen
Running Defenders - Richardson, Kennedy, Urquhart, Wells, Firrito, Macmillan

Inside Midfielders - Ziebell, Cunnington, Swallow, Greenwood, Adams, Atley
Outside Midfielders - Wright, Wells, Anthony, Harper, Bastinac

Ruckman - Goldstein, McIntosh, Daw

Key Forwards - Hansen, Black, Tarrant, Daw
Mid-Sized Forwards - McKinley, Warren, Edwards, Harper, Wright
Small Forwards - Thomas, Speight

(Havent included anyone over the age of 28)

You can obviously never have too many outside midfielders, and I guess we could take another small forward next draft, to fill the void for when Harvey retires.

And Mabon as a ruck Randy

It will be interesting to see who is the nominated rookie next year of Daw, Pedersen, Mullet, White, Scott, Delaney.

Delaney and White will be hoping it's one of them as that's it for them as I think 3 years on the rookie list is the max allowed.

I don't think we have drafted a 23yo to play scrabble. Given he's ready to go, he's be the fave, followed by Delaney, then White.

Daw, Scott and Mullett all probably need another 12 months football and physical development respectively

Pedersen dose look very skillful and his highlights are only from one game!

NORTH MELBOURNE
Bryce Lewis, recruiting manager
"Brad Scott's view is that we've been able to get a fairly-balanced list together in the last couple of seasons, so there wasn't a strong emphasis on positional needs per se, but it is good that we've been able to bring in two different types of players.

Obviously Cameron [Pedersen] is a 23-year-old that's had a couple of really good seasons at VFL level, so he's more of your ready-to-go type, and Aaron [Mullett] is an 18-year-old straight out of the TAC Cup system ... he's going to need some time to add some size and strength because he is lightly framed."

Guys I've been talking Cam up for 3 years saying we (Hawthorn) should draft him and all the Box Hill supporters are aware of how good Cam is. Whether he can step up to AFL and the pace of it is another question, but talented blokes like this don't grow on trees. I hope he goes on and proves me right. Well done Cam. :thumbsu:
