Is anything sacred? FFC looking at changing song

A little bird tells me that the FFC met today with some muscial talents to discuss whether to change the FFC theme song.

One can't help but wonder if all our bad luck in the preseason has come from changing our name and logo.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It seems the club has alot of eggheads behind the scenes trying to justify their job, and having a rebrand is perfect for this. Whats the next step? I'm betting it will be a Collingwood-esk "we're bigger than football, we're a global brand" bollocks.

The guys behind the scenes need to pull their head in.

your joking about the bolded statement arent you .... come off it, the new jumper is infinetly better. and our song is horrible. if it is put to the members, and there is a better alternative, then i would not hesitate in voting for a change. thats all im going to say on this though, as im sure this subject will turn into yet another big footy shitfight.

Following on from the jumper fiasco this will be a no brainer for the Steves. A simple reworking of the lyrics to the Carlton song will do it.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I for one do not like the new jumper. I have no issue loosing the green and red but the purple haze jumper and our previous away strip leaves the sergeant strips for dead.

No conspiracy, but you wonder how much money is spent on this that could have been spent on the football dept? We had a rather large turnover of coaching staff year on year, and had to promote from within to fill positions, which is troubling when we are meant to be a team on the rise.

I can't imagine the return on dollar spend for this kind of thing is very high. How many new fans will be attracted by a song change?

If we have a shit season this year then questions should be asked about the priorities of the board.

Said it before and I'll say it again:

The only way I'll be open to a song change is if they compose the alternatives first and then let us vote on them.

And the alternatives would have to be pretty good cos I'm quite fond of our song. The way they sing it in the circle could do with a little tweaking (as previously discussed here) but it sounds pretty f**king cool over the loudspeakers with full instrument backing.
