I have it on a very very good authority if McIntosh doesn't tell North Melbourne he wants a trade that Renouf will be targeted by Richmond. With the recruitment of Hale, Bailey successfuly back from injury, Rougheads successful position change and the continued development of Lowden Renouf may see himself as no longer an auto selection. If Richmond came knocking would Hawthorn be open to a trade and what would they want in your opinion ??

Wouldn't bother me, having Roughead and having whoever is playing better out of Bailey and Hale in the side seems a much better setup.

I think it could be a win-win for both parties. He's not in our best 22 anymore and I was thinking that he may even be targeted by GWS.

De-stabilising ? come on mate this means nothing to any player. As i said i have it on reliable authority and just wanted to gauge the thoughts of the hawthorn faithful. Football clubs are already planning for 2012 and beyond so why can't we talk about the future ?

By my reckoning if richmond finish 12th they would have about pick 13 ? give or take 1 or 2 places. I doubt they would offer that and pick 30odd would not be enough. So it would take some negotiation but would like to hear peoples thoughts on what he would be worth?

When Ruff gets back don't expect him to be back playing in the ruck, i think you find that he will go back to his forward line position and we will need Renouf..

And also all this he says she says about having it on good authority of players wanting to be traded and expected to be chased after is not a good thing to be reading when we are already decimated by injuries..

NO WAY!

Whatever you numptys think on here about who may or may not be our Number 1 ruck - Renouf is a VERY important part of the team. You do not spend years developing a (premiership) ruckman, to let him go right when he is coming into the peak of his abilities. Absolute foolishness.

If there was a trade... I would expect at least a good first rounder.

Seems feasible

I think Geelong will be pretty keen to off load Blake aswell and really the 2 are pretty similar players so hopefully we don't get too smart and get it done.

It could come down to who wants less in the end, for the tigers to jump

Bailey has had 3 knee recos and has only played a handfull of games and we don't know if Roughy will be able to play ruck again.

Too risky to get rid of him at the moment.

Certainly agree with you Wally. But genuine ruckman unlike midfielders are fighting for now only 1 spot with the introduction of the sub. If a ruckman sees a number 1 spot beyond him at he's own club and gets offered one at another club, it would have to be appealing, don't forget the Hardwick link ( loved Renouf and a very large reason for him staying in the side through finals in 08).

having a look on the NM forum, they all seem positive that H-Mac is going nowhere and have provided quotes etc to back it up. Although I do not think he is in our best 22, it would be very risky to get rid of himself without adequate back-up considering Roughy and especially Bailey's injury troubles. Therefore I would propose to Richmond "Renouf and our 2nd rounder for their first rounder" or Renouf for Graham and their 2nd Rounder". Preferably the former

This is just de-stabilising crap

It may not be relevant to talk about right now in the year, but every time Roy Boy posts here it is always good, and done in good sted, unlike some trolls that patroll here.

Personally I think keep Renouf. Bailey is never a certainty as much as we wish he would be. Hale hasnt set the world on fire. And I am not 100% Renouf has hit his peak either. Will Renouf be the next Sandi, Cox or Jolly? No, most likely not. But I rather have a young healthy ruck for the long term rather then continuing to trade for ruck options like Hale, Rhehn, or picking up Skipper etc.

Why try get rid of our ruckmen once we have slowly begun to get some depth? Throw in that we do not, and will not know how Roughie will return. We all hope he can return to the form he had this year, but will the ruck position be to strenous for his achilles? I dont know, im not a doctor, im a male model.

Bingo:thumbsu:
Absolutely no way should a trade for Renouf be entertained.
He has already shown, especially in the game against Port, to suggest that his best is ahead of him.
You can tell that he is growing in confidence, he is hitting the packs hard and his hands are getting very good.

Love Suzie and no way he should be traded.

To be honest, depending on what they are offering, I'd consider it.

I'd look at a first rounder with maybe a swap of our 2nd thrown in. If they want him they can pay for him. So 1st round and early second for Renouf and a late 2nd round.

My theory is this, Bailey is a much better ruckman than Twister, I think that is a given. Now, according to reports from many more well versed than I, Lowden is coming along beautifully, which gives us two. Hale, given a full preseason as a 'ruckman' could build his engine more than what it is so that gives us 3. Roughie is an unknown so I'll leave him out.

3 Ruckman should be plenty (granted 1 is very raw).

Nothing stopping us retaining a guy like Johnson on the rookie list as a backup plus there is Grimley though from all accounts more of a KPP than a ruckman.

I was thinking maybe they give us Rance or McGuane

Don't think Richmond would give away their best KPD considering their KPD stocks are way worse then ours (and arguably the worst in the comp).

Hope we keep Sooz, don't like giving away Premiership players, and with our luck with injuries he is probably needed next year.

How about a three way trade with Port Adelaide?

Trengove to Hawthorn
Renouf to Richmond
Player X + second round pick to Port

Trengove would give us another tall defence option with the added ability to be thrown into the ruck should we need it. Could be a win-win-win really.
