Warnock didn't carry on from his 2010 form and couldn't get a game in a side with Frawley and Garland and Rivers had his best year since the rising star.
Russell got dropped throughout the year and was left out for both finals. Carlton have their small to mid sized backs sorted and Russell obviously isn't included in that.
IMO Russell isn't worth a 1st rounder anymore. Warnock wants to play with his brother and rumour is Russell wants out.

Morton. I think that would be a win win trade. Seaby is better than Maric and Morton's probably one more so so year from being delisted.

Seaby isn't really what we're looking for. He's pretty good in the ruck, but Angus isn't all that bad in that department either. The only times Gus got less than 20 hit outs were against Freo, WCE and Carlton where they had 3 ruckmen and we had 1. We're more looking for a ruckman who's hard and who has an impact around the ground. More of a physical presence type. This is what Maric is good for. Seaby and Gus don't fit the bill.

Everyone is always on Morton's case but he doesn't have too many flaws in his game. If he can get it sorted upstairs he's easily in our best 22. I have enourmous hopes for him.

He played on Browne in his 2nd game for the year in fairness. Everyone looked like Dean Cox playing against us. We should probably base it off what they did against other teams seems if they play for Richmond next year they wont ruck against Angus or Big Red.

As an aside but further proof, the Herald Sun quoted him in an article as saying that in an ideal world he would come to Carlton... but the tone of it was that he wasn't very optimistic. The article came about a week or ten days after what I had heard.

three-way trade sending Ebert and picks out. Tippett to Brisbane.

It makes the most sense too for all teams and players involved. Clark wants home to WA, Tippett wants home to QLD, Ebert wants home to Adelaide. It's just a matter of resolving the picks/secondary players to even out the trade but the basis of a trade would be there. Adelaide on the rough end from where I sit though.

And what WCE really need, given they've got two 6'8" fulltime rucks, a 6'5" CHF/ruck, a beast of a 6'3" HFF and a 6'6" FF is a tall forward/ruckman.
Really a big hole there for Clark to go forward when Lycnh, Darling & Kennedy are all off; and ruck when NicNat and Cox are off.

So we would trade the runner up in our best and fairest last year, who is contracted and therefore would command a higher value, for the 5th-8th KPD on our list and a pick in the middling 30's?

Russell is worth something in the 20's or higher, has the draft pedigree, the past performance and the right style (Big, Tall, Quick, Aggressive).
