And what WCE really need, given they've got two 6'8" fulltime rucks, a 6'5" CHF/ruck, a beast of a 6'3" HFF and a 6'6" FF is a tall forward/ruckman.
Really a big hole there for Clark to go forward when Lycnh, Darling & Kennedy are all off; and ruck when NicNat and Cox are off.

Hell of an upgrade on Lynch.

A Sydney fan mentioned earlier that he'd like to swap Seaby for Richmond's
Morton. I think that would be a win win trade. Seaby is better than Maric and Morton's probably one more so so year from being delisted.

I wouldnt be disgusted if this trade happened however I think Seaby is a fair bit more valuable than Morton despite Seaby not getting games. Obvioulsy the emergence of Mummy has prevented him from playing but when he has played he has been really good which is why I think the Swans will want more than Morton in order to offlaod Seabs. I dont think Swans will want picks either they will want another player but who im not sure.

My hope would be to retain Morton as he is extremely talented, however I feel he has been dealt harshly by Hardwick and co for whatever reason.

Seaby would be my intended ruck target over Maric, however I think I would prefer to send Jackson and/or picks or Dan Connors.

For the record talk of Graham being a decent tap ruckman but useless around the ground is wrong. Graham would have to be one of the worst tap ruckman ever to play the game. He is soft and even when he does get a HO it is rarely to our advantage. Have been watching him since day 1 and never have a i seen 1 tap great piece of tap work where he puts it in space for our mids. Anything will be an upgrade.

I believe that WC were prepared to offer a 'quality' player plus some picks to Brisbane for Clark. Seemed to interest them, no doubt.

The whole Ebert to Crows thing was just some speculation, I'm pretty sure. An article in Adelaide Now has the Crows list manager saying that he hasn't got much interest in Ebert at all. Port will be where he ends up.

Not on this year's form.

True that but Lynch is 29 entering next season so the likelihood of him ever beig as good as Clark again is very little. Cox, too, is 30.

I can see the Eagles going for Clark. It makes sense in what they're trying to accomplish as their young to mid-career KP-Ruck group. Extremely mobile group who can all, save Kennedy (but they need one player playing at a permanent position), play multiple positions. In fact, they'd be scary good with Clark.

I agree, but perhaps Lynch is on the table as welll as something else.

Brisbane took Staker after all so maybe Lynch and Nicoski for Clarke (yes I made this up).

Why? 29 is hardly over the hill. Fwiw, if WC do end up snagging Clark, I'd be over the moon if Collingwood could pick up Lynch cheaply for the next season or two.

I tend to agree with you re Morton, He finshed 2010 really well playing off the wing, I thought he was really goiong to take off from there but instead Hardwick played him deep in the forward line again and he struggled a bit (from the games I saw) I think a change of atmosphere would be good for him and he could become a pretty serious player.
Re Seaby, if Richmond picked him up that would be a really good get. He is a quality player who has just had rotton luck being stuck behind Cox and Natinui and now Mummy. I rate he tap work really highly and he can also go forward.

True, there's nothing wrong with Lynch but a longer term view WC win and in the short term they lose nothing.

Lynch is way better than a duffield and co that Freo have thrown up

Cox isn't going to play forever. He's 30 and despite having a great year in 2011, has a history of injuries.

Would be good trading by West Coast to get Clark. They might be overstocked in 2012 but it would work out well long term.

Setanta looked like he's definately heading to Melbourne.

Source: Rush hour on MMM last night.

The new sports reporter was at the draft camp today, and saw a few teams pulling each other aside for a chat. Two clubs that apparently spent a lot of time together were Carlton and Melbourne and O'Hailpin's name was overheard during the conversation

If Seaby was likely to be available Port would be all over him - I'd say he'd be top of their list if they want to recruit a lead ruckman which apparently they do but I'm not 100% convinced I think its more media talk.

I'd rather kill myself.

I'm not even kidding.

Setanta would at least give a contest and mark a few balls. Something that you don't have at Melbourne. I think its a good move for him and Melbourne.

Agree with this. Provides some mongrel, can play the occasional blinder and will compete. Leigh Brown Lite, really - no surprise Neeld would be interested.

He'd be alright for you guys, can take contested marks and kick goals. Could bash and crash for a few years while Watts and Cook mature. You wouldn't have to give much up for him either. Still, wouldn't believe anything Mr.X says, he's absolutely full of it.

Spot on MDC. Why is Melbourne against having someone with a bit of Harmichael in them? He would bring uncomprimising aggression and toughness to a soft team...

If Irish does want to go to the Dees, I don't want Warnock in return, even if Melbourne put in a late draft pick as well.

Not sure about Matthew Bate's position at Melbourne atm, had some good VFL form but just can't perform in the seniors. Mabye a straight swap though I would have to assume we would have to chuck in a fourth rounder or something as a sealer.

I think it's a good move for him and an average move for Melbourne, he's a short term fix, provides no real leadership or mentoring ability and has a questionable character

That's why we had so much success in the Daniher era (oh, wait ).

If we are trading for a key forward I want it to be one who either can really teach our boys a bit about the game and have a good tactical knowledge as well as being a stopgap, such as a Koschitzke type, or one that could become an integral part of our team when it matures.

I don't see him doing either of those things.

We'd be better off drafting Fev.

Watts will have another 6 kilos on him, and he will improve significantly.. AGAIN.

Cook will put on another 6-7 kilo's, Fitzpatrick as well, Martin can move up forward.

If we want guys to simply make a contest Martin would be perfect, 198cm and 100+ kilo key forward.

I'd be pointing the finger at our forward lines organization rather then personnel who allegedly 'can't make a contest', it was literally woeful last year.

Some opposition supporters need to put a bit more thought into the matter and not just spout cliches.

That said, if we can get him very cheap and he isn't our priority target... I could understand us having a chat to him.

Just heard on Danyle Pearce, that there is gathering momentum that he could be playing either at Collingwood or North next season
