Who would totally have been negotiating his first contract (Trav was 17) when she was only 19/20, and would've been doing her other brothers when she was at high school.

I couldnt care what you think i go for collingwood myself so i would hate to see cloke leave but as this is coming straight from the cloke family i think i have reason to stand up for myself. Tell who ever ya want doesnt bother me. its just funny how this thread comes up and then herald sun comes up and makes accusations but i havent seen trav come out and deny any offer been put forward. btw robbo got his information from a inside source at fremantle

Ok, where and when did you speak to a member of the Cloke family?
How do you know the Cloke family?
What offers have been made to Trav? When? For how much?
Who made the offer?
If his sister is his Manager why does David negotiate contracts with Collingwood?
Why does David do all the media work in relation to Trav's contracts?

A friends engagement party who the family actually knos the cloke family and she didnt say how much or when or anything like that just said fremantle offered 1.7 million more over 4 years than what collingwood could offer and i never said his sister is his manager said was his manager when he first started playing.
 
It kind of beggars belief that Cloke would go to all this trouble to conceal a move to Fremantle only to have a sister tell a bunch of partygoers that he would be definitely leaving the club. Pendles seemed convinced that Cloke would stay at the club when asked about it on one of the TV footy shows this morning. The more I hear players responding to questions on Cloke, the more I am convinced he will stay.

I'm not going to speculate on what you were told or otherwise. But I will categorically tell you that Travis' older sister has never been his manager. All 3 Cloke boys have been managed by their father the whole way through!!!
 
A question why does D Cloke get so little respect here we know he has played hard ball over his son,s contract,s but I would expect that of any dad who loves his kids,the Clokes are a very close knit family (no hidden meanings here) the sort of people who look out for each other.

Dad David was a very good player for the Pies in his time here and certainly no more mercenary than any other player we had playing for us at the time,Raines and M Richardson were far more money hungry than Cloke was.

Travis could have got more money and probably a longer contract had he chose to go to Essendon when he signed last time,which goes to prove he already has turned down a more lucrative contract than we have offered in the past and he may do so again in the future.

After hearing him speak the other day about contracts and money and other factors that come into a decision like this I would say we have a very good chance of him staying,he has a lot of ties that bind here.

Unlike a lot of people I think his dad is only interested in what is best for Travis if he feels more money is the be all and end all we will not be able keep Travis as simple as that,but they have already tuned down bigger money to stay before and it should be noted that he would not have had to leave Victoria.

Because supporters have a conflict of interest, most don't view it as a Manager trying to get the best for their client, they view it as someone causing pain to the club.

i totally agree with you.No one can be upset about what cloke senior is doing.Travis is not just a client,its his son.I think david is obviously the only person travis can really trust to look after him.If it was me,my parents would be exactly the same.Parents just want what is best for their kids and david is just trying to get that for his son.

On another thread it was stated that Trav is eligible for the Vets list in 2015, so given that that means we only have to declare half his salary in the Cap, couldn't we compete with the raiders by offering a back loaded contract.

The rules have changed in regards to Salary and the Vets list

That is hardly an upside one iota if true. I mean, lets be realistic here. How many players does any one club have on their veterans list at any one time. On average the total would have to be 2-3 surely. (I have no evidence to back this up)

If my guesstimate is close to being correct, that equates to only $300K relief from salary cap pressure. How is that an upside when you compare Sandilands and Pavlich on at least $800K each, meaning $800K will be free from the salary cap thus easing pressure of fitting the every player under the cap.

This, in my opinion is a stupid idea by the AFL just to help facilitate free agency in the future. I will not be happy at all if this is true and it will make it so much harder for players to remain one club players. That would be incredibly sad and a blight on our competition :thumbsdown:

No offence at all to you Baltimore Jack but I sincerely hope you are wrong or at least your finer details are way off the mark.
