Hodge was 2nd in the MVP and nearly every POTY award in 2010. He was also All Australian captain that year as well. Try again. Mitchell polled 30 Brownlow votes last year. Try again. Is that the response you were after?

So what?
Jobe is superior, and will be from here on in.

You just need to realise this.

One last roll of the dice for Hawks this year, the unsociable football is starting to take its toll body wise.

How many games did Mike Sheehan play????
So he is no different to anybody who posts on BF, its just his opinion
He talks as much crap as we do, but gets paid to do.... ( lucky bastard)

At least we have had some roll of the dices in the last decade. Even managed to snag a flag as well.

Yes you've done well.

You have the greatest player of all time according to you, and managed to make 1 grand final. I guess it hurts when this greatest player of all time goes missing when it counts.

In 2001, you wouldn't have won that prelim without Goldspink. In 2009, you wouldn't have won round 22 without that other twit. You know it, I know it, the whole football world knows it. You need umpire assistance to beat Hawthorn in big games.

Excuses, excuses.

Thank god we made the 2001 GF. No one would have enjoyed seeing Brisbane beat you by 29 goals the next week. It would have made the 2007 GF look like a close contest.

As for 2009, perhaps you would have won if your mob hadn't been so intent on squaring up with Lloyd for the rest of the day.

He average more goals in finals than H&A games. Already has bags of 7 & 8 in big finals. And has kicked two of the greatest finals clutch goals in history ( Adelaide EF 07 & Collingwood PF 11 ). I know ya love him.

It's the Essendon way. To cheat that is.

07 and 11.

Don't see Hawks name on the cup those years?

Big game player for sure, stood up when it mattered.

Watch it and weep HAD. This was the moment that ultimately lost you the 2001 prelim. The video doesn't actually show it, but the moments immediately before Essendon got the ball, Crawford put Hay and Rawlings under the pump by switching play to them unexpectedly when they were in a bad position. They couldn't handle the heat.

Is this thread still going to be open after we roll Essendon tonight? I hope it is.

You're struggling with your grammar here HAD. You can't say "after" something that doesn't happen. So you can't say "Bruce McAvaney was conceived after Hitler won the War".

What you meant to say was "Boy, I sure hope this thread is still open after Essendon prove that we're about as deserving of premiership favouritism as Julian Knight is of parole, because I'd love to tell everyone how wrong I was about my pissant team's finals hopes".

That's a bit harsh DD. Not his fault the rest of the team are flaky outside left footers who disappear when the pressure is on.

I stand by it.

In the pies prelim he had 11 touches 2 marks and kicked 3 goals. He'd rather do the magnificent than the needed. He would have walked off the ground with the biggest grin thinking, "damn that was a good goal" While the others would have been shitty he was unnoticed for the 1st 3 quarters.

It was a failed final which people only rate because he kicked a good goal.

I'm not saying he's a good finals player, because he's not, but when compared to Matthew "who's my opponent?" Suckling or Clinton "what's a hard ball?" Young or Chance "albeit slim that I won't be suspended" Bateman, he's a regular James Hird.

Very true, he was lucky Shoenclangers took all the heat off him down the other end. So many passengers in one team, good during H&A but useless when the heat is on.

Your expectations of tonight are only going to intensify the pain and hurt you will endure for the coming week. Its wonderful, getting beaten by an undermanned, underdog, unexpected Bomber outfit. Oh the shame.Oh the pain. Please come back regardless of the result.

Franklin was on one leg and was in hospital 10 days prior with gastro. He was heroic that day in a low scoring game and one of the great pressure goals.

And we outplayed Collingwood that day. Umpiring was ****ed in that last quarter and our kicking was atrocious all day! should have been a Hawks v Cats GF, which we would have won.

If Essendon win tonight, BF would go into meltdown. Not going to happen though.

No, Geelong would have beaten you easily.

So umpiring lost you 01 and 11?

You should just make a template saying "****ing umpires". It would save you heaps of time.

Malthouse said Hawthorn would have won if we played Geelong in that GF.

Malthouse had sour grapes and you know it. Geelong had you (and the Pies for that matter) figured out.

They've still got Hawthorn figured out.
