No this year White and Johnstons AFL stats aren't comparable coz they both hardly played.
No, they're perfectly comparable because they're at the same level. Any and all qualifiers you wish to place upon this comparison has an equivalent in the Tippett / Reid discussion, but that seems to trouble you.

He doesnt understand

Just thought I'd pop in to see how this thread is cracking, and I've got to say, kudos to the Swans' mods for being so tolerant. Not sure how tolerant they'll be however after two more weeks of this..... :p

I just can't see a deal being done unless the Parker/Rohan types are up for trade, be that to Adelaide or Victoria. I like the idea of Grundy, however bundled with #22 is not enough IMO (particulary in the light of other recent trades).

Yeah got me, i am upset with 14 goals in a premiership win.
I think you are naive or stupid if you think that the recruitment of Tippett is not an indication that your coaching and list-management team think your forward line is weak. Anyway, the reason this all started is that a lot your mates think White + Pick 22 for Tippett is a fair trade. Again, the naive or stupid dilemma must be posed.

MAYBE IT IS YOU WHO IS NAIVE OR STUPID.

Improvement does not mean they think its weak though, all i am saying is we had almost identical output for attack to your side and you are losing a forward. You kicked 5 goals in a final with a stronger forward line than you look to have in 2013, the fact your club wants so much for tippett is an indication they think a big hole will be left, so id worry about your own side.

All anyone called someone on was the logic than johnstone is better than white based on potential not performance but tippett ahead of reid based on performance not potential

White was emergency most weeks in the premiership side, didnt get to play much. Johnstone played sanfl

Johnstone may well go on to have a great career but right now how can white be behind.

White smashed it in the reserves as a forward to get in the seniors in the first place, he can mark and is a long kick, shown as much as johnstone, both stuff all so far

Basically whoever suits crows fans in any comparison is better. Next you will tell me Josh jenkins is better than mike pyke
Adelaide was far harder to break into then Sydney for a KPF.

Well they're not that different if you do want to compare them. And again no its not equivalent. White in 2010 was better the Johnston 2010. But Johnston 2012 > White 2012 IMO just as Tippett 2012 > Reid 2012

You've never answered any questions as to why Crows fans think Tippett is both useless and a god, have you? .

The thing with Tippett is there is a huge gap between his best and his worst.
In the PF against Hawks, he was close to BOG (not-withstanding he was on Schoenmakers)
You saw how inept he was in the QF against you.

If he plays to his potential, he could be one of the very dominant big men in the comp.
If he plays at his worst, then he really is an over-paid spud.

The anger from Crows fans has several roots
- in his first season with us he didn't play due to a cracked vertebra in his neck
- next few seasons he was very much a novice learning how to play the game
- 2012 could have been a "break-out" year, but for repeated concussions

So we invested a lot of time, training and money in him.
Now he is just about at his prime time to start ripping the comp apart, but has decided to turn his back on the club who lookded after him, taught him, and where his "mates for life" play.

Good post however every club invests the same with every player and he wouldn't be Robinson Crusoe in walking out on a club.

True, but it depends a bit on the service they have provided.
There was never as much angst about Bock leaving. While no-one was happy, it was recognised he had given good service to the club.
Tippett has never repaid the faith shown in him.

I hope your club is a little less emotive in the negotiations - nothing or pick 22? It seems a no brainer, premiership rival or not.
We will see, but the fact that there has been no movement in 2 days suggests that Adelaide will not accept your round 1 draft pick alone.

You continue to ignore what I'm saying. Perfornance not potential...

So emergency multiple weeks in the premier side loses out to sanfl season?

The crows had 25 games this season

Your forwards listed 2 pages ago as ahead of johnston played

Walker 19
Tippett 21
Porplysia 22
Callinan 23
Jenkins 11
Mckernan 6
And i could add lynch 6

So a lot of missed games but mr stellar season gets 1 game? Least white played 3 performance before potential puts white ahead of johnstone

But its not relevant , even if white goes to the crows expect tha if tippett is ahead of reid in value because of performance than white is worth more than johnstone, the interest i guess being in what adelaide gave for johnstone for last year

What does being emergency have to do with anything? As I said Johnston was behind Walker, Tippet and Jenkins. Walker and Tippett missed 10 games combined, which is approximatley what Jenkins played. Like I said our forwardline is mch harder to get into as opposed to yours for a KPF. If we didn't have Jenkins Johnston likely wouldve played around 10 games.

So what? Why should another team pay overs for him just because you guys didn't get your monies worth. You guys think he's an overpaid spud. We're not going to give you one of our really good players (which is pretty much our whole premiership team + a few like rohan).
