Brisbane Lions defender Matt Maguire looks set to miss this Saturday's clash with Richmond, limping into training today.
The 28-year-old moved gingerly around the Gabba this morning and is running out of time to recover from an ankle injury that forced him from the Lions' loss to West Coast last Saturday.
Losing Maguire, the likely match-up for Tigers forward Jack Riewoldt, would be a huge blow for the Lions ahead of this weekend's clash.
Lions midfielder Daniel Rich said the rest of the Lions back line would be able to cover Maguire's absence.

So what could this mean? Merrett back, Lisle in?
Maguire was last night named in the Lions line-up for the round 19 clash with Richmond, despite limping from the field with an ankle injury in the third quarter of Brisbane's 98-point loss to West Coast last Sunday.
He will train at the Gabba today and must come through unscathed to join a Brisbane side hellbent on redemption.
The former St Kilda defender was hobbling badly earlier in the week.
However, the Lions remain hopeful he will be fit to subdue Tigers spearhead Jack Riewoldt.

Goose was left out with a sore foot. We'll monitor him through out the week, and test him late in the week again as we did last week to see if he's available for selection.
Coach Michael Voss has confirmed the former Saint has been booked in for foot surgery next week and will miss the club's last outing against the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba.
The ligament problem which resurfaced last week against the Crows has not healed, leaving full-back Daniel Merrett partnered with Joel Patfull at centre half-back.

While it's a shame that Goose still gets regular injuries, it's great to see him getting regular gametime and performing at the level we knew he could but wasn't allowed to under Ross. He would've done a ripper of a job in a Grand Final instead of Zac Dawson.
THE trio of Andrew Raines, Matt Maguire and Rohan Bewick are set to follow Simon Black by re-signing with Brisbane.
Maguire's 2012 was punctuated by elbow and foot injuries and he missed six games, but did produce his best season for Brisbane since heading north from St Kilda in 2009.
With vice-captain Daniel Merrett spending a large chunk of the year up forward, the 28-year-old was required to shoulder a greater load in defence.
He is expected to sign a one-year deal.
Still picked up a variety of injuries. I wouldn't be surprised if the club wasn't prepared to pay him as much money as his final contract was if we were locked in for 2 years and he has backed himself to keep up the good form.Glad to see him re-sign, but I would have thought we could have offered a two year deal on the strength of his 2012 form.
The major thing with ‘Goose’ was getting his scar cleaned up from his broken leg from back at the Saints. He had that repaired to give him a bit more range of motion around his ankle and foot. He has already gone straight into running progressions. He will come with us to Arizona so he’s got his rehab-based stuff and also some pre-acclimatisation stuff to do, which involves bike and running. He’s down in Melbourne with a program that he’ll be doing from interstate and he’ll also go over and have a holiday in the US before meeting up with us in Arizona.
