So, does anyone think that they can come up with a totally fictional scenario involving the Crows that is more convoluted and outrageous than the Tippett Fiasco?

I think I would struggle to top it at this stage, and that's with the punishment and legal battles still to come out of it!

Penn State and Jerry Sandusky make this drama look like chicken feed.

Not that we should even hope we can not make a comparison to that.

Why wouldn't he?

As far as they are concerned, he hasn't done anything wrong so why would his manager get the flick?
as far as theyre concerned Kurt Tippett hasnt done anything wrong. did you hear the Galbally interview? Poor Kurt was just a 'wittle boy and couldnt have known what he was signing' but it was bluchers responsibility to know what he was signing

Wait until I get home, I've got a great idea for the next Tippett image I'm gonna 'shop :D

Well considering (well now I think about it, not really) I'm sitting on the other side of the world*, no I didn't.

But that's my point. Kurt, his manager and legal team don't believe they have done anything wrong and are placing the entire blame on the Crows.

* cue the 5AA teams amazement at the internet going that far. Ever heard them talk to someone after a game from another country?

it was linked to on sen a couple of pages back, galbally takes a few shots at Andrew Gaze and Gaze got to play bad cop for a change which was nice.

Back in the day , in the world she works in, that was how 'oppotinities opened up' for females. Probably why there is so many of the older ones under performing.
mmmm - That may be the impression outside the industry, but I'd have a read of this for a less "women could only ge ahead if they put out" view of the journalism world. Lots of hard work and thick skin more likely to be the reason that these woman are where they are at.

Of course, Tippett is saying he's the innocent party in this and is threatening to sue us if he is deregistered. Bull ****ing shit. He knew as well as the club did that what he was getting himself into was a secret payment outside the cap and he signed it. He's trying to say we 'pressured' him into it. What? Did Trigg force the pen into his hand and hold him down until he signed? Did they tie up and gag Blucher while club officials coerced him into an illegal deal? At least the club had the balls to say that they ****ed up instead of trying to deflect blame.

Some key points...
  • Hired to be the legal representative of Kurt Tippett
  • Will take it step by step and see what happens Monday to see if he goes into the draft.
  • Before making a decision to see if a legal avenues need to be taken they will wait and see what happens with the draft.
  • That will depend on where he ends up via the draft if they take legal action.
  • Andrew Gaze and his conversation about Kurt Tippett being a 22 year old
  • Gaze suggests Tippet is the person responsible
  • Galbally says no because he's grown up in an AFL environment that's like a fish bowl and out of reality
  • I don't feel he was speaking about the Adelaide Crows but the AFL environment in general towards the fishbowl comment.
  • Gaze "a good defense lawyer standing up for his client"
  • I get the impression, David Galbally isn't or wasn't impressed with Blucher for not instructing his client towards the rights and wrongs of the deal. Nothing about the Crows.
  • So SpeciousArgument maybe onto something that Blucher may be gone if this gets to court. This will allow Kurt Tippett to place his nativity and has sacked his agent to prove this.
  • Can not comment on the Swans dealing, if that is his ideal home
  • talking about deregistration, Galbally doesn't believe his is guilty and anyone who suggest he will be deregistration would just be assuming he is guilty.
  • A whole range of ways the AFL can punish him without deregistratering him.
  • Will wait until the AFL commission meeting Monday before deciding what the next step will be.
  • It sounds as if - they don't expect him to be de-registered but if he is, they are willing to take court action as the very last cause of action.

I took nothing away from that interview that he was considering suing us. The thread will be against the AFL and the draft process.

The legal action will hinge on the actions of Monday and then after the p[re season draft and then after that, legal action won't happen unless he is de-registered.

I particularly had to laugh at the comment from his laywer that he signed the contract 'to his detriment'. This is what I immediately thought of when I read that:

You-keep-using-that-word1.jpg

I wish I got $650k+/season to my 'detriment'!

I assume the detriment he's referring to is the prospect of being deregistered.

In my years in the press room at Defence/Parliament House in the late 70s early 80s, the world was dominated by male journalists. There were a few females that were well respected - and none of them were the put out kind of gals. They were hard workers (always had to work twice as hard to get the same recognition as the men) and no-nonsense types (I remember Michelle Grattan well).
