I didn't realise you changed your username. Weird.

Can't see any downside to this. Only coaching in a minimal capacity, so I wonder how much influence they'll have.
Hopefully this works out well. Loving our beefed up coaching department.

Holy sh!t!! Awesome news for the dogs :D . Mooney, I'm pretty happy with, seems a great bloke to have around and does have a good footy brain, but getting Scarlett is a huge coup. This defensive nous will do wonders for our emerging backs. Has a massive aura in the game which will rub off on the youngsters in many intangible and tangible ways.

If we could secure Ling, that will hopefully put an end to our Geelongitis. :thumbsu:

True it is only 1 day a week, but I could see this increasing as their passion for the game/Dogs/our kids increases. With so many Geelong expats, I would imagine their time at the Whitten Oval will be enjoyable.

As a side note, the best news here is that Morris comfortably got through a 5km run. :D If Morris's leg allows him to play a medium/big role in 2013, and Cooney's knee holds up like it did in the last few rounds of 2012, imagine our influx of talent next year.

Toumpas, Stringer, Garlett, Hunter, Morris, Cooney plus a couple of others!!!

Awesome news if Scarlett is a good teacher. Can you imagine him working with Talia and Roberts? Mooney has shown to have a football brain and I'd like to see him working with a few of our young talls also.

I am expecting complaints of "Oh, Macca is only giving Geelong boys jobs" because we're taking a roll of the dice here by picking them up.

This will be massive, even one day a week with Scarlett working with Talia, Roberts and Roughead. At such a young age, an influence like Scarlett will help mould them into and enviable back six powerhouse.

No issues with jobs for the boys. Good people are good people.

Can never have to much Geelong

Made my night, will sleep a happy boy now. I reckon both are great recruits, especially Scarlett, arguably the greatest full back we have all ever seen and from all reports a great football brain, he will do wonders with our young backs, i'm sure the players would be very excited to have people the calibre of these 2 at the club. I think it really also instills to me what a great coach Macca must be and how highly he is respected by people who have been in a winning environment for a long time. Kudos to Macca and the club for starting to land some big fish, now next year is time to land a free agent with it.

A lot of the Geelong premiership players say they owe it to Macca to have got them to that elite status. I guess they are repaying the favour.

I like the fact that we have premiership wining players s from clubs like West Coast and Geelong to coach us.

Even 1 day a week from Mooney and Scarlett would have to have a positive impact on our young forwards and defence. If Roughy could pick up a few hints, could become a great full back.
Sorry to read the last part about Zeph. Still held out hope for him as a super-sub.

Fantastic news.

Even the decision to get these in on a part-time basis is very astute. It means considerably lower costs for the club, and the players who can benefit from the specialist coaching can still get focused time with them on a "position coaching" type day.

Absolutely brilliant. I like that we are getting youngish guys in to help our very young kids. The pressures will be in the back of their mind still and they'll have relevant knowledge on current players. Certainly makes up for any lost teaching from Lake. Even if it is one day a week.

After almost 60 years without a Premiership you can understand the fear of some fans about the club taking big risks like picking up Prismall with pick 110 or two ex Geelong Premiership players coaching one day a week with the club..

Let's also wait ... Geelong invasion our culture under siege

Has the clubs held up numerous amounts of 7/11's and petrol stations in the western suburbs so they could afford all of these coaches?
Very very good get if they are able to effectively coach the younger players. Good on the club getting the experience in. Can only help.

After Lake's little hissy fit re: moving to the forward line, I reckon one day of a team man like Scarlett > one week of me-me-me Lake. Good going by the team management to get these two, will provide an invaluable opportunity to our young brigade of KPPs.

Dunno

But that is a good idea for another revenue stream - wonder if Tony Soprano is interested in working with the Bulldogs part time to get this off the ground

If not perhaps we can pick up his Uncle Junior cheap

If that doesn't come to plan, im sure there would be small social groups situated around the area which would be very interested in doing various things like that.

Huge - just huge.

The only better news would be if they decided to pull on the boots for us.

Mooney at FF and Scarlett at FB - I would wet my pants if that happened.
