already :O why so early ?

The commissioner in our league setup the draft for the 15th Feb, prior to any of the PS games starting...

And then gave himself pick #1, prick....

Ten, so couldn't have gotten much worse!

That's a hard starting position. I was 6th of 12, ended up with a reasonable side... Bit light on for forward and mid premiums, but some potential improvers for 2013...

Are people gonna bother with the game? Its gonna be hard to keep upto date with who has who ect and waste too much time.

The real game takes enough time as it is.

I cant see myself really bothering with it TBH

Just as i said that ive removed myself from the comp hehe

I was tempted by the actions of the commissioner in our league (see above) but will start to play and see how we go. I'm worried he'll help his mates out and not act fairly. May rapidly lose interest if this happens, but have a basic set and forget side. It'll score some points and we'll see how we go from there.

Thats what happened in my league.

I mean if anyone wants to trade im going to do it unless cash is involved and someone knows someone else and is trying to make one elite team and the other made of all shit players which i wouldnt agree with.

That wasnt the case in our league so i was happy to accept trades for others but didnt get the same in return.

Plus i missed the first half of the entire draft which doesnt help and have half a team id rather not have so dont see the point, rather focus on the real thing.

I had to auto-set my draft for the first 8 rounds or so, as I was unable to attend the draft from the start. It was a real shame as there were a few people who hadn't done any research and/or picked on club lines. I definately missed a few bargins by not being there until the middle of the draft...

The draft leagues are great fun Keystone.

This is my squad for a draft league:

I don't get why he wouldn't set it to a 'snake draft' where the order of selections is reversed each round. That's what our league is doing.

just to let people know, Collingwood have updated their injury list.

Grundy out for 6 weeks with a back injury
Luke Ball 2-3 weeks Knee
Alan Didak 2-3 weeks Hammy
Dale Thomas 3-4 weeks Ankle

Just the main players

So please keep aware when posting lineups in here :thumbsu:

Does this equate to rounds missed or just weeks from now?

I finished in the top 5000 last year and i haven't done that much study this year so I would really appreciate any feedback and tips.

Stringer unlikely to feature heavily this year, as they strengthen his leg and work on his running style. This all may change if he kicks a dozen this weekend, but at this stage they are taking a cautious approach. Hrovat has tweaked a calf or something and may not get too much time in the NAB, meaning he'll be an unlikely starter for Rnd 1.

NicNat - rumoured to have OP. Swap at this stage. Not sure if Waters will be right for Rnd 1, although that may be a misconception rather than fact. Check with an Eagles fan for advice. Staker currently recovering from knee surgery.

General - too much money in the rucks, given you effectively have 3 top line ruckman. Swap NicNat for a cheaper ruckman (most popular is Leuenberger) and invest the difference in upgrading a rookie mid to a mid-pricer.

OK, feel free to rip into my team however you want. I need the advice. :D
Paparone won't be in my Round 1 team, I'm not particularly sold on the following either: Terlich, Hartlett, Embley, Wines, Viney, Rowe, Daniher.

Very solid team but I will put my 2 cents in anyway.

I'm probably against the Pavlich selection. Interrupted preseason and will be playing as a permanent forward again. I just see him having some very low scores in his quiet games and might be able to be traded in at a much lower price later on in the season.

Grimes and Hartlett are good selections on their own but selecting both of them might backfire. Both are injury prone (although Grimes was far better last year) and putting them alongside an unpredictable Broughton may have you pulling your hair out. I'm probably just suggesting to take it into consideration, weigh up the risk v reward.

I like the selection of Deledio. I am very tempted to go Deledio over Cotchin as well with him likely to have a lot of freedom while Cotchin takes the number 1 tag most weeks. Ball not having a full preseason now should help Beams as well.

Watch Embley for the rest of the preseason and if you aren't satisfied enough i would recommend downgrading him to a rookie and possibly bringing in a mid pricer in the forward line (Knights, Byrnes, Varcoe are options) to help cover the lack of forward rookies.

Good luck :thumbsu:

I hope people can read that, first time trying to post a screenshot

I've chopped and changed my team so much, what are peoples thoughts on this team??

Am I silly choosing both Varcoe and Byrnes?? I initially had neither of them but I wanted a stronger midfield.
