I for one will continue to treat Essendon and it's supporter base the same way I always have, regardless of how this investigation turns out. With the utmost respect!

I hope this doesn't descend into a carltank or meltank Bay13 situation. I will be very disappointed if anyone refers to Essendon as Essendank.

I'm surprised that no body focuses on high in high performance!!

Under Elkin's regime, sports scientist Stephen Dank was hired by the Sharks over an 11-week block in 2011 before club doctor David Giveny intervened and terminated his involvement with the club.
The information has paved the way for former ASADA senior counsel Richard Redman to encourage Cronulla players to admit guilt and accept six-month bans.

Redman has been hired by the Sharks in an advisory capacity since the Australian Crime Commission scandal initially broke last month.

Cronulla initially told the players they had 48 hours to accept the six-month bans or opt to fight it and face two years on the sideline last Tuesday.

But with the majority of players suggesting they were unaware the peptides they were being supplied were on the WADA banned list, they have so far refused to accept any plea-bargain offer.

Dank has repeatedly denied any wrong doing.

if the investigation does in fact turn out to find Essendon players guilty of PED's, don't you believe the rest of the competition should feel a little pissed as they would then have every right to look back at previous meetings and suggest they played against a team who were playing above themselves and those 4 points may have been massive for certain clubs fighting for a spot in the 8 or top 4?

I can't help but think back to our game at Subi this year.

We were leading at 3 qtr time with all the momentum and they came out and completely ran us off our legs in the final qtr. Completely blew us off the park, keeping us to one solitary point for the qtr while they had 10 shots at goal themselves.

Now I'm used to Freo turning into witches hats in final quarters in the past, especially under Harvey, but it certainly wasn't an issue we had much under Lyon this year - quite the opposite usually.

From the AFLPA's perspective and probably later a legal perspective, James Hird and Dr Reid apparently signed the waivers/consents that what the players were taking was fine.

If players are rubbed out, where does that leave these two in future action by the players for loss of earnings , reputation etc ?

Doc Reid's testimonies to ASADA/ACC/AFL will have been and will be interesting.
Didn't the players have forms signed that stated what they were taking was legal? If so, what more can they do?

Bombers were a certainty that day, you had a lot of players missing IIRC.

Has someone at some stage of your lifetime, other than your mother, told you that you are funny?

If so, and just in case you haven't realized it yet, they lied.

This may be the only time I reply to one of your posts. Cherish the moment.

either evidence is relevant or it isn't...

And in this thread, it clearly isn't.
Its not the evidence, or lack of it, that is the problem. It is standard of proof people are willing to except.

Bombers fan want absolute certainty, in the hope against hope that they might be OK.

The supporters of other team realise the evidence out there already paints a very black picture indeed.

Any team that had a loss to Essendon in the first half of 2012 has the right to be pissed off.

First Offence
iv) Should a Player receive sixteen (16) weeks or more Suspension as a "first offence" it shall be at the Leagues discretion as to whether or not that Player will be deregistered, following his/her Suspension.

Wouldn't the "First Offence" refer to his first suspension as a player? Eg. been suspended for striking, rough conduct etc, not just the first time caught taking a banned substance.

Players shall be automatically deregistered and not allowed further registration with the same or another League if the Player has accumulated a combined total of sixteen (16) weeks Suspension (or greater) in a football career (including AFL career)
Yeah Darryl White is no longer allowed to play football due to an accumulated total of 16 weeks worth of suspensions.

Well if Essendon were taking PEDs they weren't working when we flogged them by 70 odd points a couple of weeks later.

The AFL will not delist players, that talk is stupid.

If rules were broken, it was against the players knowledge and understanding, even after some asked for assurances everything was kosher.

The AFLPA is livid, and will not want the players to be wearing the bulk of the price for anything that happens.

Automatic suspensions (if it comes to that) are unavoidable. AFL sanctions however are avoidable, and the AFLPA will unite and go to war IMO to protect the players from delisting (if someone was dumb enough to push for it).

The whole thing about players signing a waiver is something I don't understand. Could someone please explain what has happened here & why hasn't this been discussed much.

You know it was only the shock of wearing the grey shit suit for the first time that got you the win, will be normal stations from now on, if ASADA let us have a team on the park that is.

Hahaha, Blues supporters are still pissed about round 4. It wasn't PED's mate, your team continued to prove how shite they were for the rest of the season!

Pretty sure it was a combination of Bombers on peptides and the 3 injuries we copped in the 1st quarter. The 2nd meeting between the teams resulting in a 96 belting by the Bullants proved how shite the Bombers are.

St Kilda learnt the trick - run fast and black white and red looks like grey and red

That was due to injuries across the whole team, remember the week after?
