Even though the free kick count was hopelessly lopsided against us, I actually wasn't unhappy with the umpiring. They put the whistles away in the second half and I reckon that made the game a better spectacle.

Delighted with Bewick tonight. Seemed like a totally new player from last week. Don't know what was said to him during the week (apart from 'you'll be the sub, mate') but it worked. Was eager to take the game on at every opportunity.

Patfull was fantastic. The odds are shortening on a back-to-back B&F.

Loved Green's game.

Leuenberger is a class above McEvoy.

Merrett looked real good as a forward tonight.

Disappointing though how sloppy we were in the third quarter once the Saints got back into it. I'd kind of hoped that we were pretty much playing at their level in the first half. They played their best footy in that third quarter and I would've liked to see us respond. Instead it took until they tired for us to really run over them.

But a good, no fuss win. Apart from Browny, of course. Oh Browny. Get well soon champ.

Disappointed people booed Saad. Don't think that was appropriate.

He's a player I've had a lot of time for in the tagging role but two subpar weeks in a row and his constant use of the lunge tackle that doesn't quite stick have got to put him in line for a drop, although considering there are two very obvious taggable options next week I would be extremely surprised to see him dropped.

We don't need to drop anyone. I think you may have need and want mixed up. Other than injury and suspension replacements, everything else is a choice, regardless of your reasoning. It would appear (at this stage) that brown is the only likely change we need to make. Making Lisle the most likely candidate. Other options for a tall forward are Martin (only one game back from injury, so probably unlikely), Ace (appears to be treading water until a de-listing, at the least has little recent history as the go to man when we need a tall forward. Also not a true tall forward), Dadsy (not sure of his recent ressies form as a forward but probably less impactful than Lisle's), Close and Longer (did not play last week in the ressies not sure why), and Paparone, who it seems has been playing as a wingman. Who would you like and why?

I went early when we won our last game against Melbourne, but tonight was definitely our 200th win as the Brisbane Lions.

I would suggest that it is the Lions who need to address this, and it is not simply a vendetta (those numbers signify an sizable, ongoing variation). It is a normal situation for the Lions to be in, so it would seem that our technique needs work, or we are just dirty... as long as we're winning, I don't care.

Good, solid win. Happy with O'Brien's return game - tackled well and worked hard, Rocky was excellent, the forward structures worked well even without Brown (but you'd want them to considering the Saints backline tonight), no real awful performances, although Raines was dead average (but still kept Steven pretty quiet).

And Stakes copped a corky in the second, I think that's why he was going slow for a while there - saw a few people giving him a bit wondering where he'd gone. Think being sore and still kicking 3 goals is a solid return for us.

Patfull was brilliant on Riewoldt too.

Really hope Brown is okay, couldn't stand it if that was his last game for us. Needs to be sent off properly. But happy overall
