I'm sure with all the stuff they're known to have bought, if no one took it, it must all be sitting in a cupboard somewhere.

Aha.
So now you know why Hurd and his assistants say_they_took were the people those drugs.

The latest article if true is beyond sad.

Back in the day it was just called tequila...
Apparently Ken Kesey was on more than just Tequila when he wrote One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Much of what I have heard and read from several quarters about what occurred at Essendon seems to be based around what may or may not have been legal, illegal, banned or not banned. A defense based solely on the legality of something demonstrates we have reached the LOWEST common denominator - maybe those at Essendon should be raising the bar just a little and be more concerned about the morality of their actions instead of just the legality of what occurred. This is what disturbs me the most - that so many people in defense of Essendon are more concerned about the legalities of what was done and what they may legally be able to get away with instead of what was or is morally right or wrong.

Nah.
At this stage the way I see it most has been based around keeping detailed accounts of what supplements the players were given. That is a must for all teams that wish to be involved with the AFL and is part of the rules they have signed up to and agreed on.
The recordkeeping appears to have been a mess at best and questions are being rightly asked by the AFL, then there is a lot of innuendo as to why the records weren't kept up to date. Innuendo or not the fact is these records should exist.

If any of the substances used were illegal or not is another matter and that is still being investigated by ASADA.

I hope Angus hasn't developed a liking for tacos and burritos.

Essendon players injected with mystery Mexican substance
The players and coaches are starting to feel the effects of the drugs as the photo below shows.

This is getting silly now

Would any parent in the upcoming draft want their kid going to a club who is more interested in protecting themselves than the health and well being of their players?

They have no choice but to accept a loss of points, loss of draft picks, bans imposed on the coach and administration

Or

Dissolve the club

They will accept the former as they know the later is a potential

I reckon this is going to get very messy, and Essendon are going to regret this legal action for each one of the next 15 years.

The amount of power that the afl has over their long term destiny is far greater than their own. Piss off the afl badly enough and let's see how many home Sunday twilight games against Fremantle/port/GWS they get for the next while.

wtf?

so they dont know what is in the bottle, but they can only assure us it wouldnt be anything illegal or dangerous??

hmmmm. okay, not knowing what is in the bottle can only mean you cannot make the claim it is not illegal or dangerous.

and the sheer fact that it came from mexico via someone looking for something to treat cerebral palsy then ends up in some clinic where the owner will not or cannot say what it is tends to say it is not likely something you can pick up easily in australia.

im starting to lean to the fact that this is quickly becoming worse than taking performance drugs.

they deny taking drugs to enhance perfomance, but the alternative is that they have been frightfully inept with the medical health of their players and have risked their health. try to convince me injecting them with an unknown drug is not risking their health.

im guessing most people here have had surgery or a simple check up or flu shot, how many questions do they ask you about your health? they dont want a bad reaction to what they may give you to hurt your health.

if your local doctor had done this they would be sued into oblivion and i doubt they would work again... am i wrong?

......
It's like the report into the Burnside Council that Russell Wortley suppressed a couple of years back without even reading it. He assured parliament that he didn't know what the report contained but that it contained no evidence of any wrong doing. o_O

For those who didn't see it this is apparently the first charge outlined:

what ive heard said is that there is x amount of $ for injections given to essendon players recorded in receipts and paperwork but essendon disputes whether they were all actually given to the players or not.

hence the 'players were administered illegal drugs or were administered drugs the dons cannot verify were illegal or legal' statement above. i guess the afl / asada are trying to find actual proof of drugs taken, but even without it you would have to guess providing players with unverifiable drugs is enough to get you shitcanned.

whether the receipts mention the specifics of what was injected i havent heard but watson admitted one he was injected with was a drug that has been classed as illegal by asada.

now news of a drug injected into players with unknown contents also.
