At the risk of being banned for coming into a thread I am told to not come into....

I disagree with what happened tonight. Maybe the powers at Essendon erred, maybe the didn't...but I do think the AFL acted too early and did it for their $$$$.

I despise losing to your team, but, I love playing your team....LONG LIVE THE BOMBERS!!!

OUT THE CURRENT AFL!!!!!!!!!!!!

So much this. I've lost all faith in both our administration and this league's administration.

I suppose I'm a little luckier that I have West Adelaide each and every weekend to love and support.

This is an interesting issue. Bomber not coaching on the weekend could suggest his feelings on the matter. If he wanted to coach and give his own **** you to the AFL you'd think he would have put his hand up in a snap. Wouldn't surprise me if it's Simon Goodwin with Bomber continuing his mentoring role, and I wouldn't be unhappy with that - So Much Goodwin :)
 
I wonder what a ground invasion would do this weekend. They can't fine everyone. Storm the field

Agreed. Very well said. The thing that made me most furious in that presser was not the penalties, not Vlad, but Little's comments again and again that there is now "clarity" around what happened. I may or may not have said out loud "ARE YOU ACTUALLY ****ING SHITTING ME?"

All seriousness:That's all I'm saying about this topic as I seriously don't want blood on my hands because of a stupid raging Essendon supporter with a score to settle. An we all complained about media annoying Hird and his young family, Robinson family is innocent too and they don't deserve that either. An if any supporter does something stupid like that is the lowest of lows that can be linked to the EFC.

I hate the AFL but I don't hate the club, they have copped their whack rather than drag the whole competition into the ground.

We will hear our side. James wants to tell it.

Jab, kong and everyone else. You guys are what kept me going these past 6-7 months. The humor and jokes have been great. We are all hurting. But try and think about other things for now. Get down and support the VFL. Show the club we are still here.

There will come a time when we can hurt the AFL or some media flog.

Imagine Little came out and said "we view these punishments as grossly unfair bla bla bla", imagine the media shitstorm. He would just be giving Caro and Fatprick more ammunition to slag us off if he said that. It's basic PR management.

The punishments suck. What happened at the club was pathetic, and we are now paying the price. As I said before, it could be WAY worse. We could have had players being canned for two years. We may have been facing certain extinction. The worst thing we could do is turn on the club and become another Richmond, and put ourselves in a downward spiriling shithole. It's fine to question the club, but calm down.

We are Essendon. A $2 million will not destroy us like it would to Bulldogs, North or the Demons. History will go down and show us as finishing 9th and not 18th and on 0 points. And to top it off, Hirdy will be back next year. He will definitely be back to lead us into September and hold up #17. It sucks, but come round 1, 2014, all of us will be eager and excited to watch our players come out and play without an ASADA/AFL cloud hanging over our heads

What a load of shit. You don't come out saying shit like the club did unless you're supremely confident. If AFL pulled something to turn the table then it just shows how stupid little was to think he could win. Only he and a elect few know, but they are 100% accountable for misleading the supporters. They made themselves look like someone who told everyone they're gonna fight the bully after school and then ran scared when they saw him coming. Pathetic and embarrassing.
