I would love to see us grow a pair during trade week and take this stance, but Port also might swoop in and steal him if this happens with the picks they can offer.
In that case they're welcome to him. There is no way on earth that his value is higher than a 3rd round selection. Adelaide would be certifiably insane to trade their way into the 2nd round, only to then piss that pick up against the wall by trading it for Polec. If Port are stupid enough to over-pay then that's their loss. Adelaide cannot afford to do so, this year in particular.

Why? 3 years after being drafted and he's still trading on the "potential" tag. Granted he's been injured a lot, but his list of AFL achievements come to a grand total of zero. Polec is in the "nice to have if if happens" category. In no way should he be a priority signing.

Agreed, I would like to grab Polec, he certainly fills a need, however, he does constitute a considerable risk with exposed form and injuries so I wouldn't be training anything higher than a late 2nd rounder for him. Ideally though it'd e a third+ or even PSD. We need as many free hits as we can get.

So a guy who is a Port supporter is going to say no to Port and go into the PSD and risk being taken by other interstate clubs.
The other thing is - he is a Top 5 draft choice -2010 so even though he has had injuries he does have plenty of currency..... and I know he's Brodie Smith's best mate and that means about as much as him being a Port supporter very little. At the end of the day I wouldn't be surprised if he stays.
Sorry, I don't buy that at all. He was a top-5 draft choice 3 years ago. Since then he's proven to be injury prone, with no on-field AFL achievements whatsoever. He's still trading on the potential tag, but 3 years after his original draft that tag now has an inch deep layer of rust on it.

The fact is that he has very little currency. His value now would be a 3rd round selection at best. There's even a chance that we might be able to pick him up for nothing in the PSD.

Wasn't aware he was a Port supporter. That surely carries more weight than being a Crow's players best mate I would have thought.
Neither of them carry any weight - apparently he wants to come home and the last time I looked there were 2 teams in Adelaide

All Polec has to do is say he wants to go to the crows and refuse to deal with port and we can get him in the PSD for nothing, much better for us and cheaper than trying to get a 2nd rd pick to keep Brisbane happy

Polec could be delisted anyway. to be straight up I could see the crows being not interested. The guy didn't get much of a go in a struggling team. Maybe invited out for pre season training to see how he goes.

Not sure what you're point is.

His decision making will first and foremost be about where he sees his opportunities lying and obviously the coin on offer. But if he determines these things to be about on par between both clubs, of course he's likely to favour the team he great up supporting (as opposed to the team his best mate plays in).

You don't agree with that?

He's been out injured for most of the time and as I understand has yet to complete a pre-season. No way he'll get delisted.

No, not at all. I don't think that matters at all. If he wants to come home he has the choice of 2 clubs and one of those clubs have to come to a deal for a trade with Brisbane. Now assuming you get a 2nd Round choice for McKernan you will have the higher 2nd Round pick to trade, the question is would Adelaide be prepared to use it to get Polec?

I'm talking in the context of if he chooses to nominate a club (as players are want to do these days)

3 seasons, 16 games. The games he played (according to Brisbane Supporters) hasn't been flash. The new coach situation at Brisbane may not help his cause either.

Since Krakouer got delisted some people on the facebook pages say he will come to Adelaide. I personally don't want him

Nah, his career is over. He did the same at Collingwood as he did at Richmond. Started his career in a blaze of glory then each and every season he drops off until he is unselectable. Plus he is in his 30s. done and dusted.

Would people be open to get didak on the cheap?

No. We need the room on our game day list to play Kerridge, Grigg and Lyons. He would be just be a list clogger. I would be all for it had we finished top 4 this season and we were going to have a crack at the premiership next season and we could benefit from Didak big game experience.

I know a teacher that taught him at Henley who said his approach was "I don't care I'm going to get drafted anyway" maybe he needs a wake up call.

You say Krakouer is done & dusted. Worth a sniff for 1 season till we get back in the draft? Didak is worth a look but he is a Port man & I would say if Port wanted him they would get him over us. Just seems a perfect picture to finish his career where he started i guess. Also Darren Jolly for a back up ruck man worth a look even if it's just a season or 2?

Collingwood not being conservative at all with their delistings.

Off the list include Alan Didak, Darren Jolly, Andrew Krakouer and Jordan Russell. I hope we show the same ruthless approach in this area, regardless of draft sanctions.

this is not been ruthless Didak,Jolly and Krakouer were not in their best 22 and Russell was brought in as depth player.

Absolutely. But I think Adelaide would benefit greatly if he does get delisted. invite him straight out to pre season with a promise of a PSD pick if he performs on the track. T

2 things

1/ 3 of them are in their 30s
2/ Adelaide do not have the draft picks to get rid of experienced players willy nilly. We need to maintain depth, while getting rid of dead wood and trading. sadly we are limited otherwise Reilly and Porps could have been delisted after the year they had this season.
