He played his best two games when he was knocked out before half time. The Sydney game at Sydney where he actually won us the match and the Carlton game I think ?

Trick statement because the rules are different now, remember?

We had never beaten carlton with collins in the side.

Played his best footy with us and don't remember him actually wanting to leave.

Think he is worth another go in yellow and black?????

Slightly better then the little blonde headed dread lock kid we had a couple years back who's name I can't remember. So no.

We all seemed to love Collins, but it was possibly because he barracked for Richmond all his life.
I have never really rated Grigg and haven't seen any reason to change this view.
I'd say we won this swap, but only by a nostril.

But my question is why would we chase Collins if clearly he has not improved and is still injury prone??
I guess you can find that answer in the first sentence...

I'd say we won this swap, but only by a nostril.
I honestly can't see how you can say that. Grigg has played 66 games for us and has scored 39 goals playing mostly from the mid/wing. Collins played 11 games for Carlton and kicked 6 goals. Grigg will definitely improve on that record in the next couple of years whilst Collins has been delisted. Grigg has been in our best 22 for the entire time he has been at Richmond, Collins had to push to make Carltons best 22.

Regardless of injuries, saying that we won by a nostril is underselling this trade significantly. We won the trade by a long long way.

Would be a handy addition to the VFL side, if no AFL teams want him. Seems to have a good head on his shoulders and might have some leadership potential at the lower levels.

If he is gunning it after a year at VFL level, then I think we might have a look at him for the AFL list. But not now - too many injuries, lack of physical development and his form at Carlton was woeful.

Imagine if we took him back and he started playing well how silly the scum would look.

They'd probably still try and say we lost out of the deal.

Yep, you're right, that was harsh on Grigg. He's been pretty handy. We clearly won this trade, but that doesn't mean we got a gem. I'm just not crazy about Grigg's 100% uncontested game, and his loopy little lateral nondescript kicks & if he has to kick it over 40 metres it's turnover city almost every time. He runs all day which in reality is his only asset, but an asset nonetheless.

Andy Collins is only good roving the ball off talls in the goalsquare.
He is crap out in the major part of the ground, accountable and scared of his own shadow.
He's also injury prone.

Let it go mate, you can't polish poo.

Arent we past the days when a single courageous mark against the Swans at the MCG four years ago doesnt make a player a club legend for life.

Maybe I didnt watch enough Coburg games back then but can anyone shine any light on whats so good about him.

I wouldnt want Raines back and he is cementing himself in a Brisbane side on the rise.

The Tiger love for Collins is based not on his footy ability, it's because he's a lifelong Tiger supporter...

Blues fans saying that Grigg was a plodder, and would not be on our list in 2 years time, he is a dud, etc. Whereas Collins had been mismanaged in a poor team, and would thrive under Ratten. ;)
Blues fans didn't know who Collins was. Most of the wailing and gnashing of teeth was from Tiger fans upset to lose him.

What would be the point of getting Collins back? He'd not even be top 30 on our list. Just no.... and thanks for the laugh.
