Hey guys, I had Henderson in AFL Fantasy this year and he really impressed me in the second half of the year. Would love to work a Howard / 3rd Round for Henderson type trade basis us likely needed our 2nd rounder for Crameri.

From what I saw this year Henderson looked really good and I didn't see too many weaknesses in his game, can anyone fill me in on some of his weaknesses / reasons you aren't too upset to see him leave? I know he may be a little injury prone and I guess if he is homesick there isn't much point trying to fight that... Thanks in advance!

He really struggled up to this season with finding a place in the team where he could play consistently good football. This was, in part, due to a bad run with injury, but he also just really struggled to consistently contribute. A lot of the game time he got was due to his potential (he's a great size, and as athletic as they come), but when he got shifted to the backline after Reilly did his shoulder he was great as the loose man in defence.

The major weaknesses are probably a lack of real physicality and that he's pretty injury prone. The reason people aren't too upset about the prospect of him leaving is that the loose man in defence role is probably the easiest to fill, and it would be good if we could get back into the first two rounds of the draft. He's very talented though, and it would be easy to see him become a very good player, be that at the crows or some Victorian club.

He was poleaxed a couple of times early in his career, for Central Districts and for us, so he developed a bit of a reputation for shirking the contest. It's not exactly true, but occasionally you'll see a fraction of a second of hesitation when it looks like he'll need to put his head on the line to win a contested ball.

He's definitely an outside player.

The only "fair" COLA is if the AFL offers the 10 percent only to first contracts, and maybe on second contracts obviously just for new players. After that you are either delisted or earning enough money.

I bet a much bigger deal is made of this by the Victorian clubs and media now that its one of their clubs.

We would be mad to go for that deal for a contracted, required player.

Sorry that was meant to read as Howard + a 3rd Rounder. I would probably do Howard and a 2nd Rounder for Henderson and your 3rd but we will likely need that pick for Crameri.

Howard and a 3rd may be slight unders but that would probably be the best offer we could make with your lack of early picks and us not likely having the 2nd rounder available.

To be honest, there is a bit of a schadenfreude type feeling towards some Hawthorn supporters who were all telling us to suck s**t when Tippett left. Not so much fun when the shoe is on the other foot.

looks like the rumour is true Buddy to Join the Swans for $7m over 5 years

league equalisation my ass

no one can convince me that the like Tippett the Swans have not ben in Buddy's ear all year, late minute offer my ass

Cannot believe this about Buddy Franklin. By the end of the week, Collingwood may not be the most hated club in the AFL.
Also, rumours on twitter circulating that GWS will make a huge offer for Eddie Betts. :(

Were rumours that GWS were going to pay 2m per year for Buddy, but that turned out 1.2 so strap yourself in and wait and see.

Can someone explain something to me?

If Sydney get an extra 10% living expense allowance in their cap, should their NOT be a single player on their list on the minimum "AFL rules" wage??? It should be the minimum plus 10% correct???

Technically correct but the AFL make the additional payment i believe. It's not an extra slush fund that the Swans get to spend how they like.

That would top off 2013 wouldn't it!! Sydney get another gun unfairly and the Crows suffer...get faaarrrkkeed

Im loving the idea of buddy to shitney... soon their cap will be all used up by a player that is 1 concussion from retirement and another that can't mark the ball over his shoulders and his best was years ago. Come on afc.. make a play for Jetta.

Although nothing more than a miraculous dream I don't think I'd be able to stop laughing if we somehow managed to steal a Jetta or a Rohan with a deal either could not refuse and all amid what's going on right now. *yoink!*

I don't think we have the ball to even try and manufacture a deal like that.

We should but doubt we could.

Free agent.

They have effectively lost no picks or players for Tippett and Franklin.

I'm disgusted.

Buying players is all they know, pathetic..
Look at their key forward history:
Lockett->Hall->Tippett->Franklin
