Do people feel like he could hold down that 3rd tall defensive spot?

Currently we have Chaplin and Rance holding down the first 2 spots, with Grimes the preferred option as the 3rd tall. However, we all know Grimes hasn't been able to stay on the park and Astbury is the only other back-up that we really have (Presuming Griffiths and Elton play forward next year like they finished this year)

Do we need to draft a 3rd tall defender later in the draft like a McStay or are we ok?

Not yet and not for some time I think. He's slight and I doubt he'd be brought in to that role ahead of Batchelor/ Dea for at least another year.
An interrupted year, but a bit meh so far.

I reckon he's a bit deceptive, he's got a bit of that Tucky wiriness to him.

If the club drafted him to play as wingman or half back flank then we should continue to develop him there and draft a defender as a project in the draft. If the club drafted with the purpose of developing him any role then put the responsibility on him to become a third tall defender who can play on talls and smalls.

Though McIntosh is weird one as no one really knows what his role is...

Yeh they drafted him as a winger then he grew. What's he 194/195cm?

Website says 192cm. Though you're saying he grew since he joined so I imagine he would be around 194cm mark if what your saying is correct. First I've heard of it though.

There was a vid on the website about him growing a few cm's.

Yep, he's very strong for his size but would get smashed playing KP in the 1's. Having said that he gave Tom Lee a bath in the 2nd's in the first round of the VFL. For mine will probably play hbf/wing and if he gains size we could use him as a KPD in the second half of his career.

I'm pretty sure it was Jackson who said earlier this year: "Matty Dea will be the next big thing at Richmond"
To be fair though he also thought he had no chance of being top ten in the B&F 12 months ago. ;)

Wasn't he 190-191cm when drafted tigs ? If now 194-195 cm that's a bit of a growth spurt, may take him a bit of time to settle back into his body (coordination wise)......period of readjustment.

From memory I thought Kamdyn looked very promising running off the HBF/Wing in his redraft footage.

He looked a little scared in the few games I saw in the VFL, he really needs a big dose of confidence and to back himself a little more. His skills looked really good and he moves well, I can see what caught the eye of the recruiters. Might just take a bit longer to get used to playing with the big bodies you get at seniors level. There's some pretty scary looking dudes running around the forward line in the VFL, no shame in taking awhile to shape up if you are built a bit like Miley Cyrus as an 18 year old.
