Yeh but brendan sheehan has no credibility

Contra, you do not understand. Sheehan is "credibility personified" for the nutjob lurkers of this thread. The mere fact he (albeit as a disgruntled sacked former union employee) is slagging off at "da Unions" is the highest acolade and reference that is required for tas et al. No more need be said or considered.

For those who did not click through to the article, it also says:

He is seeking more than $1 million in compensation for being unfairly dismissed.

“Most unions are honest. This is the first time I've come across something like this,” he said.

An update

LAWYERS for Victoria Police have declared there is "very strong" evidence to suggest Julia Gillard's former boyfriend may have committed fraud, as they fight to obtain documents seized from her old law firm relating to the AWU slush fund scandal. Bruce Wilson, who was in a long-term relationship with Ms Gillard in the 1990s when she worked at Slater & Gordon, has lodged a claim of client legal privilege over papers that fraud squad detectives took from the firm earlier this year....

Mr Wilson has not been charged with any offence and has denied any wrongdoing, as has Ms Gillard. Mr Gipp said there was "substantial evidence" on which police had formed a belief that the documents were created in furtherance of a fraud and thus immune from claims of privilege. - See more at: http://www.theaustralian.com.au/nat...y-fn59noo3-1226740564826#sthash.zEEzkpKK.dpuf

Oh gosh DR, swoon. This is getting real inneresting. You mean, maybe Plod will have 'nuff evidence to prove that the boyfriend was a fraud because the documents that Plod hopes exist will show the boyfriend was involved in a fraud by getting lawyers to set up an association that he knew was going to be used as a conduit for money to which union members were entitled.

I for one hope Plod is successful. But I am afraid all this is a long, long way south of proving that solicitor, who happened to be his girlfriend, knew anything at all about the fraud. And, unless you think fraudsters are usually so stupid as to tell respectable people about them (like Julia Gillard) what they are actually intending to do, you know this too. (And if you do think fraudsters are usually this stoopid it says more about you than Gillard).

Pity you're focussing on the wrong fraud. It does help to read the thread. I'm assuming you haven't, rather than lacking basic comprehension skills.

But while you're on the wrong fraud, and assuming you can read, try to recall on what basis that association was set up, and what the responsible solicitor subsequently told the S&G partners.

You really should reconsider displaying your ignorance in this thread.

Ok, I admit that when reading the thread I do get a bit distracted by all your heavy breathing. This thread stands as a veritable testament to your stupidity. Long may it continue.

Um, the 'sociation was set up to um, help WA AWU union members and their health and safety? Am I close.

And, um, the responsible solicitor told her partners that the association was a slush fund to divert monies extracted from businesses under a pretence to donate big dollars to her boyfriend and her home renovations. Am I closer?

You really should reconsider displaying your ignorance in this thread.

See DR, if I stick my head in a bucket of cold water while pissed and type any ole sheet I can pretend silliness too and then you wouldn't think me so ign'rant.

Whole article is worth a read about Gillard's appalling conduct, but for the lazy here's the last bit

For those unsure of where things are at, the police interest remains high. The police are due to go back to court in a couple of weeks. A month ago, lawyers for Victoria Police explained to the Melbourne Magistrates Court why they have been taking the slush fund fraud investigation so seriously. The police, who have numerous incriminating statements, want to peruse more than 360 documents seized from Slater & Gordon relating to Gillard's former client and lover, Wilson. He is fighting to prevent the police from having access to this material.

Ron Gipp, for lead investigator Senior Sergeant Ross Mitchell, told the court last month that police were confident in their case so far. "The evidence is very strong," Gipp said. "What we are talking about here is not merely Mr Mitchell saying: 'Look, I've got a suspicion.' This is going way, way beyond just mere suspicion."

Earlier this year, police seized hundreds of documents under the warrant, which specifically sought files held by Slater & Gordon relating to Wilson and Gillard, including her personnel files, invoices, travel records and documents from the firm's partner meetings relating to Gillard and the AWU.

Perhaps those who still don't get it - who still lampoon The Australian, Milne, Smith, Baker and other journalists, including this one, who have been involved in exposing these issues - should explain to the fraud squad detectives and the police lawyers why they, too, are barking up the wrong tree.

It is a pity you didn't cut and paste the whole article DR. You seem to have left out the bit that supports your assertion of "appalling conduct". Perhaps you could spell out quite what you are saying amounts to "appalling conduct". (Don't worry, DR, I know you haven't the capacity to do so.)

For mine, unsubstantiated allegations of "appalling conduct" constitutes appalling conduct and that is all we seem to get from you. Ho hum.

Somewhere in Australia, DR's ears are burning.

Hi there. ;) Greetings from Sydney's inner west. :)

Jules won't be losing any sleep over this.

She will on Sunday night. Will be interesting to see who turns up to court on Monday.

Remember there being a lot of shit thrown about when Keating retired perpetuated by the red neck right regarding his interest in a piggery. All amounted to piss and wind as this will for Jules. Nothing to see here.

Did Keating have his former workplace raided by the Vic Fraud Squad, hundreds of documents concerning him or created by him seized, and a magistrate having to rule whether they are admissible in a live well resourced fraud case?

You really shouldn't misquote people, especially when you show your ignorance when Gillard opened up to those questions with a bunch of journos who were not the ones investigating and had little knowledge of the matter.

They were given plenty of notice of her last press conference on this issue but chose not to attend.

Generally people care more about "fraud and corruption" happening now and/or happening to people who have some major influence on their lives, than about some Union thing in the olden days.

Always amazed that people show such little concern for fraud and corruption.

Always amazed that people show so much concern for completely unsubstantiated claims of fraud and corruption, claims enhanced by the fact that they are made by total nutjobs of the first order. But not at all surprised you would be one of those persons.
