For those saying this deal should have been done weeks ago, I just say, imagine if it was Griffen. Would we not spend every day trying to convince him to stay? Would we not expect our club to move heaven and earth to keep him? Crameri had loyalty and strong friendships at Essendon so why wouldn't you think, if you were the coach, that you had a strong chance of changing his mind? I think Essendon have been quite reasonable about this.

Good News
Dogs stuck fat and got their man for 26. Even if this board has been DODOROED.
Would simply call it a fair trade, but it's made the sweeter that Essendon are miffed.

Welcome to Crameri (#8?). I like his links to Stringer. They should combine well up forward.

Was listening to SEN before when they were breaking the news, the commentators (Harford and someone else) thought Crammers coming in wasn't the answer to our forward line issues. (Well DUHHH)

It's amazing how many neutrals and bombers supporters believe we think he's the be all and end all to our forward line. He's just a cog, a handy one at that and will definitely help, but in no way is he the complete solution to our goal kicking woes.

Great news now we don't have to deal with Essenscum for a long time nor hear their supporters crap on demanding the world for him anymore. Well done to the club for holding firm (although given it was Essendon i do wish we screwed them harder and took him in the PSD ;))

I think most recognise it is a fair deal. A couple of morons having a rant over there (won't mention names - my last post was deleted), but it really is a win win deal.

There is more then a couple, they all just have the same avatar. Essendon can go suck it never liked em never will. They got a fair deal when they have nothing to play with, be happy that you got something when he could walk for nothing.

given McCartney's links to Essendon I have no doubt the negotations were all done in good faith and Essendon tried to get the best result they could, but at the end of the day made the trade that suited the player and the other party within the allocated time.

Seems pretty reasonable to me.

I'm going to shoot you tonight for that comment :p

Terrible analogy. Surely your'e not comparing Griffen to Crameri?
I've heard it all now.

Some on the Essendon board suggesting agoraphobia. I'd be more suggesting trypanophobia, but whatever justifies a player leaving Essendon for the Dogs, fellas.
Welcome Cram and good luck to Essendon with Pick 26.

I think the Dons board has been pretty good about today's news - with the exception of about 3 posts they are reacting pretty much as you expect us to if we were in the same situation. (Although it's odd to see Jade with such a different personality on the Bombers board than he has on the Dogs board).

Some (like Lance Uppercut) have been downright philosophical.

Guess they've had a few months to get used to the idea. But good on them, I genuinely wish them the best with Pick 26. Like I've said a few times, I would have preferred we kept the pick ourselves.

But now we have Crameri, I'm looking forward to seeing how him fitting into the picture helps out the likes of Dickson, Stringer, Jones and Grant.
