I agree. Im glad Crameri is gone. I know the club tried to talk him around, but its a good thing his attitude wont be around next year. (him still being a good bloke and all supposidly)

Fair enough. Poor drafts certainly sometimes gives fringe players wonderful opportunities to fix/strengthen their games and we could see a real gem there.

Also think we should look at adding a few VFL mature midfielders in the rookie drafts too. The reality is we won't pick up a gun this year (Garlett aside), but if we get a Ben Howlett solid mid, we should consider this draft a success

Wait, what, the dawgs didn't give up pick 4? Crack pipe dream.

For the deluded though, there are still a few hours to dream over the possibility of getting a good pick from Freo for Gumby.

I'll be happy with a pick upgrade, so their 2nd for our 3rd, or their first for our 2nd. Gumby is steaknives and that is it.

what will send me hurtling towards an open shut assault charge is if crameri talks shit about EFC as a club in any way (be it governance last year or whatever)

Crameri is a better person than that i would be really disappointed if he opens his mouth about what happened last year and make Essendon look even worse.

I can't see this bloke lasting that long (#26).

I know its not much to go on but I had a look at the phantom draft boards and I figure these two seem to be the most respected posters there...

#24 St Kilda – Jay Kennedy-Harris (VIC – Fwd/Mid)Height: 173cm, Weight: 68kg, DOB: 21/03/1995
Recruited from: Oakleigh Chargers
Style:
Player comparison: Andrew Krakouer
Range: 15-35
Profile: Small forward who has shown this year that he also has the ability to push up through the midfield and find the footy easily and be an effective two way player with his tackling particularly impressive. Kennedy-Harris’ point of difference is in his ability to sidestep with numbers around him and generate time and space for himself easily to be able to dispose of the ball effectively. Also has above average straight-line pace to go with his ability allowing him to break away from congestion at times. Regardless of this improved midfield ability my vision with Kennedy-Harris is as a forward first who can rotate into the midfield as required. Kennedy-Harris is as natural a crumbing forward as you’ll ever see. He gets to the right positions consistently and knows where to position himself to get those balls that come to ground. One touch with all his touches and a clean user of the footy. Excellent finisher around goal and a guy who could fit into a forwardline pretty easily.

62. Essendon - Jay Kennedy Harris (173cm, 68kg forward - Oakleigh)

Midway through the season, Jay Kennedy Harris was getting quite a bit of attention - being talked up as a potential top 20 selection. A lot of that talk seems to have quietened down more recently, and I personally think that's closer to the mark. I don't rate him as highly as other similar players, and it may be size related. Admittedly he is far from just an outside player - he is surprisingly strong in his core which, coupled with his speed and agility, sees him break through tackles with relative ease at U18 level. And apparently nobody told him that he is so small, because he throws himself into the contests and tackles well. Last year, he played primarily as a small forward and he did it well. He has a real sense of where the goals are, and could make all the trick shots. This year, he has moved into the midfield and is setting the goals up, as opposed to kicking them himself. So while his goals have dried up a bit, I imagine recruiters would be more than happy with that as it shows his versatility and midfield ability. I'm just not sure he will be able to translate that midfield game to AFL level, and I feel like he will only be a stay at home small forward.

also a general look around other internet draft profiles, he seems to usually be listed in the 20-35 range. and an added bonus (cause people here seem to love it) he's an essendon supporter

On WHO though that is the big question, you are really gambling this year after 35.
Well gamble, Hirdy was taken 79,A.Goodes in the 40's, A.Swallow 40's, Taylor Walker 75, ,Dane Swan 58 and lets not forget C.Grant in the 100's ffs, the draft is littered with bargain picks over the years, lets hope our recruiters get one this year.

Can we all just agree to put Leroy in a car, tell him we're going for a drive to see some friends, stop off at a Petrol station in Griffith telling him that this is his last chance for a piss until Dubbo, watch him leave and we just drive away? Can we?

Didn't know Jetta had got plastic surgery and headed back into the draft?

i reckon you're right dude, but sometimes really disappointed people do astonishing things

edit: for real life example, observe people at court jester hotel in chapel street

Harsh! Nothing to do round there, hear the balangalo state Forrest is nice...

Srsly though I still have a feeling he may still have something to offer, injuries can hit , depth essential. Like devil man..i mean reimers, we broke his game down so far, trying to make him into what we wanted that we took away all his strengths.

Feel the same with Jetta, just like to let him off the leash one more time and see what happens.

We actually have drafted well after the 2006 disaster
With the exception of Heppell our drafting in 2010 wasn't too flash either (only guys in or around our best 22 from that draft are Heppell (drafted 2010), Howlett (upgraded rookie 2010) and Hibberd (PSD 2010)).

Our best drafting years since the 2006 debacle (for mine) were: 2007, 2008, 2009 (excluding not taking Barlow in the PSD), 2011 (the guys drafted that year haven't played much senior footy though), 2012 (again still not sure).
