Does anyone else find it creepy that we didn't exist at all before we were born!

I know the title is a bit confusing and stupid but I just find it a bit creepy that we just didn't exist at all! So what exactly were we before we were born??

In a drunken state many years ago I ordered a plain pizza.

Upon getting this pizza home and opening the box I was confronted with a nicely cooked piece of dough naked of all topping.

Thinking the pizza might have been put in the box the wrong way up, I turned the pizza over, expecting to find the obligatory smearing of tomato paste and cheese, but found nothing.

Puzzled, I turned the pizza over again. And again. And again. But no plain topping was to be found. Perhaps it existed in another dimension.

To this day I remain puzzled by this episode and, without doubt, it has shaped me and changed my perception of the world.

Is this because you still ended up eating the whole thing?

Oh yes, I ate it. Mostly to work out of the topping was somehow inside the pizza. No luck, I'm afraid.

Do you ever ponder where trees were before they were 'born' too?

Hopefully the 'pizza delivery technician' was a Geelong supporter!

Them things are called 'calzones', grizz.

Yeah, it's a pretty weird concept but think about this: After you die, you will never, ever be conscious again. Try not to cry yourself to sleep as you get closer to your inevitable death. :thumbsu:

What I find difficult to comprehend is there life outside our planet and is there a god?

Prometheus tried to explain this to me lol.

I don't find life outside our planet, anymore difficult to comprehend than that there is life outside our country.

In South Australia we find it difficult to comprehend life outside the state boundaries lol

I find it more creepy about our existence when we die.
Good call. It is a little eerie and macabre what happens when we die.

If there is an after life and a good one, people would fear not fear death. Then again there would be an increase in suicide too. Ironic.

When I was a little kid, I actually thought the world started the year i was born.

What sort of freaks me out is the likelihood/probability of us ever existing, in terms of our mum and dad meeting each other in the first place, and then the fact that we stemmed from 1 particular sperm from a million or so, at time of conception.

Sometimes I also think about the fact that as bad as WW2 and Hitler was, if those events never happened, then it would have changed the dynamics of my grandparents' lives, and as a result my parents presumably wouldnt have been born, so neither would I.

This is why I'm sometimes confused about why people are so terrified of ghosts - if they do in fact exist, then it means there is some type of after-life/existence after death, in which case that would be a little reassuring.

to solve this riddle you need to determine something else before proceeding

you need to work out where you stand on your consciousness. either two things are possible, you 'exist' or you dont. you are either a creation that has no actual control over yourself and all the choices you make are a result of the chemical balances and reactions in your complex brain that also creates the illusion that you're choosing what you do to keep you sane and focused on the goal of keeping you alive to breed, or, inside your head you are a seperate being controlling your current mind and body, kind of like a person driving a car. You're not a part of the car, but without you the car is useless, and one day you'll move on from that car to another and the cars will never be the wiser

If you believe in the former, then sorry my friend your world and the choices and beliefs you make are an illusion created by you keep you alive. If you believe in the latter then probably before you were here you were somewhere else and when you're gone from where you are now, you'll move onto somewhere else
