In first year there was a incredible looking guy who sat across from me with the medium hair and beard look. Such a stunner that, well he inched out all the girls to claim best looking in the class (I'm one of those horrible people that always ranks the top 3 in my head). One day he shaved and got a haircut, and the stange new feelings I had been experiencing were gone.

Beard ftw.

When I was playing in the u/14's or 15's, we were playing against Hillcrest and a bloke with long hair and a long beard fronted up to play for them. Given how most 13 or 14 year olds are just learning how not to skin their top lip with the old mans razor at that age, our coach rightfully asked to sight some proof of the blokes age, which they provided. Here is a close likeness to how I remember him

I have learnt a very valuable lesson this week

Dont ever forget to buy a gift for you misses on her birthday...you will be paying for it until she has squeezed every last ounce of benifit out of it.....

I noticed our credit card down this week.....I see different more expencive hotels booked then previously discussed for our trip...I confronted my misses about it......."oh it can be my birthday gift"...sigh

Then again bang see my misses walking all happy I asked her what is up..."I just bought myself a new handbag and purse set...it can be my birthday gift from you....you know the gift you were supposed to buy me...for my bday....but forgot"

Then the real clincher the one that was like a dagger through my heart ....conversation via texts:

Misses: Heeeey babe
Me: what?
Misses: wanna go see justin timberlake when he comes
Me: No
Missus: awww come on it will make for the fact that you forgot to get me a birthday gift
Me: ........sigh...let me see the price of tickets first...
Misses: Yay I got us tickets...
Me: WTF I didnt confirm I wanted to go I said I wanted to see the price first....
Misses: I had to get them they went on sale and would have run out...thanks for my bday gift xxxxxx

So, after the video game convo of about..I dunno, a hundred pages back in this thread or so, I tried a demo of Crusader Kings 2, but couldn't get into it. I then looked at Victoria 2 that someone was talking about and snapped that up on a Steam special the other day. Steep learning curve, but I feel it's a game I can get into

Yeah its bad you forgot to buy her something, but if you apologised and she forgave you then she really shouldn't hold it over like this, even if she makes out like she isn't angry about it. Think of it as if you cheated on your girlfriend, and then she accepted an apology and took you back, then brought it up all the time to make you buy her stuff, or just to make you feel bad whenever you had a fight etc. etc. That would not work.

No need to be angry, but reasonably you should be able to say "look I'm sorry I forgot I'll do X to make it up to you" and that be the end of it. Its important to have boundaries and protect them, but its also important to respect your partner and her boundaries.
