There is not much difference between Frawley & Brown, except we would be paying Frawley a lot more money.
I'd rather get Browny fit & save the cash for a better player. A tall forward perhaps? Frawley is a good player not a great one.
You don't pay good defenders the kind of money being talked about in the media. ($800,000 a year )
Hopefully Browny's shoulder has been all fixed up now & he is ready to go in 2015. That gives us Frost, Brown & Keeffe for tall defenders.
They are as good a 3 as any at the moment.

Remember the rules have changed. Any money saved in your total player payments one year, can be carried over for the next.
I hope we are stockpiling our cap to go hard at a champion in the near future.

On Frawley, he plays a similar type role to Nate Brown but he's a better intercept marker. Keeffe has the best footskills of our 3 key defenders. Frost has the pace that the other 2 don't have and is incredibly agile for a tall player.
.

You would think that is because the ball spends a lot of time in Melbournes back half.
A lot more time.

Heard an outrageous rumour on SEN (Sunday night).

Beams traded to Brisbane for their 1st round pick (4th overall).
Pies 2016-17 team under this scenario picking up a KPF:

HF Moore (2014 4th Pick) Broomhead
FF Kennedy Cloke Elliot

I would absolutely love Gold Coasts pick 13. Realistically, do they need another top 15 pick?? I think they would love a key defender to go next to Thompson and May.

I have us finishing in 11th, which would mean we'd have pick 27 in the second round.

Brown + 27 for Pick 13 could be fair.

The only way it works though is if we also pick up Frawley or another defender (ie Jaksch or Steinberg)...so that way we are free to move on Brown.

If we can't get anything of value for Brown, then I'm happy enough to retain him. I don't see a huge difference between Frawley and Brown...and I definitely don't see a need for both on the list. So if we can't get a valuable pick, then we should stick with Brown as he has a lot of upside when fit.
More like go hard and get pick 7 from them some how Brown + picks 27 and 4th rounder or player for pick 7:) Brown + pick 27 for 13&26 is better in your deal :)

Firstly, we would take Moore with our current first round pick. Bidding is done before the trade period opens. We can't use a pick we don't have yet.
Secondly, Beams is contracted. It would take a hell of a lot more than pick 4 for the pies to even contemplate moving him on.
Thirdly, Beams has allegedly been going home since 2010. It was BS then and it's BS now.

Brisbane would need to trade pick 4, rockliff and Hanley to even get close to taking beams. He's a pie form life, don't worry.

Beams will be at Collingwood for life! But I do like the Brisbane romour, Beams would be a good fit for them! hypothetically, I would be happy with Sam Mayes (pick 8 National draft 2012) and second round pick (approx. pick 22) 2014 draft. If we could snag Garlett, Blakely or Lamb with the second round pick, win! win!

I think that was a coincidence not by design. A comma after Moore's name from Mick wouldn't have gone astray because he wants a tall forward with pick 4 :thumbsu:

On the whole I've always felt comfortable with your thoughts re Dayne so I'll back you in! If only to upset those flogs running us down on the Lions board.

Mick will do it just because to make sure Collingwood uses the 1st Round Pick on Moore.

You can almost Guarantee it

MM had nothing to do with my post, but I agree he will be over that like white on rice.

Rumours and trades I acted out:
1. Beams to Brisbane years end straight swap pick 4 (would prefer Sam Mayes pick eight 2012 draft)

I doubt any of those Rumours will Happen.

Broomhead has Committed to Collingwood a week or 2 ago.

The last one Brown to Hawthorn is the only one that is a Chance of Happening
