dislike.

they are human beings, not robots. Besides it goes both ways, many a flakey individual turned into a solid citizen.. and player once having a kid or partner.

do you prefer them to be stags getting out on the piss and drugs? or settling into life at an early age.

Strange world - It seems to be that unless you are married and have children by the age of 24, they you automatically become an un-social pisshead.

I can't tell anyone what to do, but it'd be good to see people putting this stuff to the side until our finals campaign is over.

Heck, that could be tomorrow night; 24 hours (or a few weeks) isn't too long.

We've been waiting 3 years to play finals again.

We've been waiting 10 years to win a final again.

We've had 18 of the most agonising months an AFL supporter has had to endure, including having the finals taken away from us during our best season in recent memory.

Focus on that.

Worry about this other stuff later, when the actual footy's over.

Spot on. This has been my view on the entire mass of shit we've been wading through all year.

The point is that Mrs Ryder is pushing pressure on Ryder to leave the club - Fact - She should be grateful to the club who have nurtured Patrick as a person and as a player - How many have spouses earning 500K at the age of 26 - Ryder's partner should be thanking the club instead of throwing darts - i suggest she is ungrateful.

I bet if you ask Paddy right now he will tell you he loves being at EFC.

Looks like Paddy will be lining up in the forwardline tomorrow.

I reckon that's a massive risk. Goldstein is one of North's biggest (literally) strengths, and Paddy is one of a pretty small number who can negate him. Still, if Paddy can kick 3 it's probably a win regardless.

a) Is it fact? Do we know this yet?
b) She's not obliged to value Paddy's wages, or the work that the club have put into him more than being near family, if that's the issue. Ideally (for our sake) she'd be fine with staying in Melbourne to help Paddy's career. If not, it sucks but we have to take it all into account and hopefully work something out that satisfies all parties. It's not our place to tell her what she should value and what she should be grateful for. IF (huge if) she's using the health concerns cynically as an out to get away, fine, get upset, but that's a little premature at the moment. In any case, even if we think the concerns re the baby sound bogus, you can't blame them for being concerned at one point or another.

Bellchambers has trained really well today according to some on Blitz.

Mote inclined to think that the ratio of those who require the grounding of family to thrive or mature would be higher than those whose lives are ruined by having an early family.

I really worry about Bellchambers' mobility around the ground at the moment. Don't think I like this.

i guess we just value paddys career choice because it benefits us, in their house he may well (would) value whatever she brings to his life and most normal hearted people would do what it takes to keep their partner happy.

I put my career on hold when my partner wanted to study after child birth... its what good people do. paddy is a good person, (i assume) Its best not to hurl abuse at a lady we dont know, she may be a great mother and contributes as much to their dynamic as paddys career does. But it dosent help us so we flame her.

Lol wasn't she smashing this same player agent last year after the dusty Martin saga

I ducked into training as well today. I wouldn't read too much into it. Yes Tom trained well but it was a very light training session, practically no body on body work. It would be good to know how he went in the main training run of the week which would have been far more intense.

No one here knows what his Mrs went through last year and none here have the right to comment.

No matter what the future brings Paddy Ryder is running out on the 'G' tomorrow night in the red sash.

And we have an elimination final to win

So Ryder has 2 years left on his deal at $500k, Brisbane could offer him a 4 year deal at 750k... He wouldn't have to worry about form or injury before his next deal, he'd just get 4 years @ 750k straight up. That's 1mil that he currently has on his contract vs 3mil he could sign with Brisbane.

It would be a cold blooded act to claim the get out "clause", but with a young family it would be hard not to.

If it is money he's after I'd be more than happy to oblige him.

100% correct. Doubt that Mrs Ryder understands how lucky she is to have a 26 year old partner earning 500K per annum. It's a shame.
