If we can afford it. We should do it. Wood is still on the rookie list, so he's cheap. Paying 350G for a guy playing seconds is too much.
As long as you recruit a mature age ruckman at hand to step up when necessary.

Cameron Wood has played 6 matches straight but I don't expect him to last 22 matches if Kreuzer, bless him, re-injures himself.

Dean Cox's name has been mentioned but I don't trust a 33yo retiree to shoulder the burden either.

Agreed. But we have a few options. Giles is potentially able to play. There's Wood as mentioned. Plus we are going to likely draft a tall. And, maybe snare Cox if at all possible.

I think 5% is about right.

IMO it is much more likley that we'll trade 6 for 1 late first rounder and an early second (something like that); and trade these picks on for Jaksh & Mitchell. We may need to package other picks/players.

If we could still land a Hugh Goddard that might be genius.

I'm pretty sure that even if another club is paying for the salary of a player then it is still counted in the cap.

Also Warnock and a third for Mitchell? Really?

I thought my suggestion was light as well, and I wasn't aware that it was still counted as under the cap if another team payed for it, I thought that's how we got a great deal for fev from brissy

If we trade pick 6 for a late first & a second we could essentially get Mitchell for that late first and use the second round pick to get Jaksch (if he nominates us).

In that way we essentially get Mitchell and Jaksch for pick 6. We will still have a second rounder too.

Think that was vossy doing a bossy at that point in time.

However fairly certain it is financial rather than salary cap related. Could be proven wrong but pretty sure that is how it is counted

Yep, that's the only way it happens in my view.

If we can con the Doggies out of their Higgins compo pick for Robbo that'd give us two 2nd rounders.

fair enough I guess if it was the way I thought it would leave the system open to too much abuse.
Could you imagine two clubs getting together and one club trading 50% of its cap to another club and then after said club has had its success trade 50% of there cap to the former club

If we could add Higgins, Mitchell, Jaksch and Laverde for the loss of possibly Watson/Garlett/Warnock/Waite/Robinson . But even an optimist wouldn't like our chances :(.

He can play. He's had injuries which has dogged him. At 24, he's another forward ruck option. I'd rather have him then keep Warnock in the reserves and on 350,000+

He can't play. He's had ample opportunities at Afl and sanfl level and was hopeless at both. He even switched sanfl clubs a few times for more opportunities and was still ordinary. I've watched him live getting taken apart by part time footballers. He is big and that's it.

WCE traded pick 6 to Collingwood for pick 10 and a second rounder last year.

IF we are trying to get Mitchell, we should see if we could trade pick 6 for something similar and try get Mitchell and Jaksch with those picks.
