If they think 4 is fair, we'll offer them 8 for Rockliff.
It's laughable because GWS wants a first rounder for O'Rourke yet Brisbane is only willing to part with a first rounder for Beams.
If they believe the talent pool is so good this year, then go to the draft and keep pick 4.
Just declare that they have no interest in Beams and would rather draft a 18yr old and that way it solves everyone's problems.
Its amazing how Brisbane supporters just don't think his worth more then pick 4
Just because Slobbo on 360 tonight said Beams is not worth Hanley and pick 4 they are all up and about this man knows nothing about football

i read it somewhere and i cant find it now. was probably the rumour and trade page on Facebook which has a strike rate of about 10 percent correctness. But Beams is an All australian and B & F and premiership player . Patfull is 29, he doesnt have much currencySource?
Very highly doubt that our 2 x b&f would want out and even if he did there is no way that particulaFar trade would be in any way realistic
That's not what he said - it was closer to "we can get a better deal from Brisbane", as in Beams (and by extension Connors) can get a fatter contract because Brisbane have more $$$ to throw around, whereas the Suns cap is starting to (and will continue) tighten as their plethora of young guns gradually start needing to be paid more in their next contract(s).
He also said 'for collingwoods sake it is better they deal with brisbane' . This some kind of veiled threat?
Might Levi Greenwood be a possibility for us for Beams. Perhaps not just Greenwood, but if North are not signing him up, I say give it a crack. He is a gun.
People, especially Brisbane Lions supporters, need to remember that Pick 4 is literally a guarantee of nothing. We have to demand a player in return who isn't a total scrub, considering Beams absolutely has the potential to be a top 5-8 player in the whole AFL.
Here are the number 4 draft picks from 2003-2011 (no point adding recent ones - too early to judge):
2003: Farren Ray
2004: Richard Tambling
2005: Josh Kennedy
2006: Matthew Leuenberger
2007: Cale Morton
2008: Hamish Hartlett
2009: Anthony Morabito
2010: Andrew Gaff
2011: Will Hoskin Elliott
Of those, you would seriously only consider 3 of those as part of a trade for Beams. I would only straight swap for Josh Kennedy and that's it.
Look at who else is on that list - Richard Tambling and Cale Morton. Two of the biggest draft disasters of contemporary football. There is no certainty to the draft, and no certainty to the injury prone nature of the players (Morabito) or the giant spudliness of them (Tambling/Morton).
THIS is why we need a player swap as well as a pick. I personally don't even care if we get pick 4 unless we're planning to on-trade it. Who gives a shit, it could end up being the next Richard Tambling for ****s sake.
Not sure if hes worth what we would be giving up. If we can't get a quality player in with Beams, which is worst case scenario. We are in complete rebuild mode, not just partial rebuild like we are now. May aswell stick with the kids.I mentioned in the trade page last year about greenwood, no one seemed that keen. A lot can change in a year. Wouldnt hav cost much at all last year, now it would

I would love Gaff, he is a gun footballer and if he was a Brisbane player with the way things are going at the moment I would want him in a straight swap. He will be as good if not better than Beams by the time he retires but no one rates him as high as they should because he plays in Brisbane.
Then again, if he was a Brisbane player he would be untouchable as well.
Beams has really stuffed us up.
Yes. The final kick in the cojones from season 2014.
