Tim Membrey requests trade

Think Michael Voss.

He evolved the other way, really. Started his career as an inside midfielder, spent some time in the forwardline as he wound down.

Do you think he might be a little similar to Stringer and Crameri?
In 2015, yes... but that's not a bad thing considering they were our two best forwards for most of the year.

Stringer will develop into a midfielder (as will Bonti) and given our forwardline was terrible for much of 2014 any injection of quality is welcome.

Spent most of his career as a bull mid who got forward and kicked goals.

That's Stringer's bread and butter.

Thanks for the response. Certainly a lot to look forward to for the Doggies.

I can't agree with the bolded though. He looks like such a natural, damaging forward I reckon it'd be a real shame to play him up the ground. I reckon if you were moving Stringer out of the forwardline to make way for someone else you'd be costing yourselves goals.

I'm one of the dogs fans who actually agrees with you, I wouldn't be taking Stringer out of the Full Forward position anytime soon particularly when he kicked 22 goals from his last 9 games including bags of 4, 4, 4, and 5. He was certainly able to hold his own in the one on ones against Ted Richards and beat him on the lead numerous times. He's also 192cm so he's taller than Jack Darling, Fevola, Bradshaw etc and the same height as Pavlich so I take it on that basis that he can be considered a Key Forward particularly as he is at lot stronger than most 20 year olds and rarely got outmarked in 1 on 1's due to his body positioning and strength.

Although we can move him into the middle when we get the KPF's we need which we are far from having at the moment.

In terms of Membrey, we have to take into consideration that Crameri looks likely to take this ban and how long that goes for is something we have to take into account. A like for like replacement in Membrey could exactly what we need. I also rate membrey a better contested mark than Crameri because it certainly isn't one of his strengths. However if Crameri is able to play we might use Membrey in another position on the ground or use him as the sub to replace Gia, Crameri can also become part of our midfield rotation, and will help us being t0o top heavy as we certainly need that 195 - 198 cm CHF (like a Tom Lynch, Sam Reid type), plus a forward ruck which we will hope it is Peter Wright. Jarrad Grant should be traded along. You still interested!!

No.

But you never know. Leppa does like his tall, mobile flankers.

He's the sort of player that only succeeds when the team is playing well, late 2010 and late 2013 when our team was flying he was actually kicking bags of goals. A team like Geelong, or Fremantle should consider him as he can offer something. He doesn't fit into our plans I think particularly if we are going after Membrey.

3rd tall, would suit Geelong nicely I'd say but then again I don't rate Kersten or Walker much.
Geelong should definitely look at him as i have no confidence in Kersten or Walker being any sort of answer. Kersten had an interrupted year with injury, but just doesn't look right to me. Membrey is worth a try, the Cats need talls and were proven vulnerable when they had no Vardy, Simpson or McIntosh in the finals.

Would happily trade Warnock and even pick up some of his salary for 2015, Swans need another ruck and Carlton would be suited with a roaming forward.

Bulldogs would be a good match for him, did think Essendon might suit when heard the news (Saints as well) but I think the team that needs to go hard is Richmond, he'd be perfect in support of JRoo, which he needs consistent help with. It would relieve the pressure on Jack, the pressure on Vickery/Griffiths and he could eventually take Martin's flanking role if his tank improves.

He's a good set shot? After years of Waite and Casboult I forget what one of those looks like. TAKE ALL OF MY DRAFT PICKS!

Seriously though, fourth rounder. Maybe a third rounder, if you agree to take Kane Lucas as well.

I know little of Lucas other than he can't get a game and was a high pick. "Im not trolling but what happened to him? I don't see much Carlton games at all.

Wondering if we can do a reverse Carrazo and turn him good for us after being nothing on your list…

Go Catters

Zero heart and even less skills. Pretty much runs up and down the wing and occasionally gets the ball but you don't want the ball in his hands. Obviously a very good junior with his run and endurance but just hasn't found the composure at AFL level. Think a short Cale Morton.

Tim Membrey would be best suited to Carlton playing third fiddle to Casboult and Jones (*).

Was an early bloomer, honestly dont reckon he has got any bigger since year 8, slowly declined from this superstar of Australia at the time, every year since.

Pretty ridiculous comment.

Or too Daniher and Carlisle for the next 10 years.

Or too Riewoldt and Stanley

Please explain to me why it is ridiculous? I don't think he is worth pursuing for the Bulldogs. I was merely stating where I think he could have most impact. Chill the **** out turbo.

Poor bloke would be 3rd tallest but first fiddle!

Richmond alongside Riewoldt and Vickery is the best fit I think. Would be so handy for Jack to actually have a reliable prospect who helps him and also can get out of his way as well. When they play Griffiths or Hampson they are too tall and cumbersome. When they play Aaron Edwards he's too crap. When they don't play another marking option they lack targets and are predictable.

It's typical trade week over stating a one gamer, but I would have confidence Membrey would work well at Richmond.

Stringer will be a brute midfielder like Kennedy ;)

He could be a good 3rd tall at any club behind any 2 forwards at any club, how can you say hes best suited to Carlton. Was my point. Behind a player they dont even have on their list yet, Just makes me laugh BF sometimes, alot of the time.

Or playing fourth, fifth or sixth fiddle?

Henderson
Casboult
Jones
Menzel
Walker - might return to the forwardline next year.
Kreuzer

Even White and Watson have played the third tall role against St Kilda and Essendon. We need more clean ball winners and legspeed if we're chasing Tutt. At least three of the following players could go. Garlett, Lucas, Robinson, Mclean and Armfield. Need a classy finisher if we don't get Jaksch or a KPP such as Durdin or Lever. Ahern or Laverde please.

His tatts are horrible 4th rounder.

It's a good thing I'm not one of his mates. I'm not sure I'd be able to contain my laughter when he showed me it for the first time.
