Cheers Omega, I can't tell you how pissed our club is with Pickers. We had a handshake agreement with Boyd and his family that if he wasn't coming to us this year, it will be next, however Pickers negotiated a 7 year deal with the dogs sold the story to the Boyd's, the rest as they say is history.

For the record, if we got him next year our deal was 5 years @ 900,000 odd per year.

Glad we didn't get him if that's how much he was going to cost us. Definitely not a fan of that type of contract to an unproven player. Sets a bad precedent for the rest of the team and future Blues prospects from other clubs.

Geelong picked up Rhys Stanley from St.Kilda for pick 26.Clearly our recruiting staff were asleep as we could have and should have been in the thick of these negotiations and could have traded pick 19 for him. He is perfect. Big marking mobile and will get excellent service from the midfield. Jones seems to be one of these players who will tease us. Tutt seems to be a like for like swap for Garlett although Garlett has the goals on the board. We haven't handled Robinson very well either. Looks as though we will lose him for nothing and I would surprised if a club did not snap him up in the draft.

They're overly confident that they'll escape severe suspensions. If they're right then Cooney gives them a classy midfielder despite the injury history and being on the slide.

Even Geelong people are shaking their heads at that deal but we should have given up #19 for him. Seriously?

Have you watched Stanley other than for that one game where Fremantle came here for a holiday?

They played him as a tagger and despite not being good at it originally he got better at it, I was at that game and to kick 3 goals as the tagger on Murphy was probably his best game in the role.

Then he broke the collarbone and Guthrie became the tagger and did better at it, so he was given Guthries back pocket/HBF position and having never played there (not even at vfl level first) he looked lost. He would be good as an outside mid as well. Two of my favourite players have left the club this week, Taylor and Travis. If you get him then I'll have a good reason to watch the blues play

His disposal is ordinary though, so I have question marks over his ability as an outside player ... I'm not interested for that reason. We're trying to rid ourselves of those types. He's a goer though.
