This is the basic difference between young cricket fans of today and young fans from years ago. When I was a lad, I couldn't get enough information from people such as Bradman, Miller, Hassett, etc, to teach me about the game. Today's youth just think they know everything and don't listen.

Ian Chappell not only captained Australia, he also played baseball for Australia. But more than that, it was his fight with cricket officialdom which dragged cricket screaming and kicking from the dark ages to give players the wonderful deals they enjoy today. Without Chappell's vision for the future, the game wouldn't be what it is today. And what do you get from posters on this forum? "He's an old fart, he's boring, his stories are irrelevant", etc. Ever stop to think that maybe it's YOUR opinions that are irrelevant?

Yep. In one of the 10,000 cricket docos I've watched, the late Terry Jenner said that every modern player should give a little prayer of thanks to Ian Chappell for the great life they've got.

Agreed on Chapelli, but will never warm to Slater.

India might actually chase this down, how embarrassing!

Still a long shot, tough scoring at 4 an over on a wearing pitch and it only takes one or two wickets this session for India to shut up shop.

a guy who averaged under 40 in test cricket before this series and hadn't scored above 40 in the series before, he shouldn't be too good. Obviously kohli is better than his test record suggests but still.
Similar situation to Smith.
