The best part was when he said "They're definitely ready (to go all the way)" during the Port v Syd preview, as a reason/excuse for why the players didn't laugh at his irresistibly funny jokes about last years finals.

Graham Cornes is a great comedian.

More of a clown...

I thought it was hilarious personally

lol.

Voss' reaction to his spray of Polec was humorous.

But gee whiz.

Lobbe's ginger. Brett [sic] Ebert has big ears. Trengove posts his dog on instagram a lot. "no-one cares" x 2.

For a guy who's supposedly the cream of the Australian comedy scene. Well.

The only thing remotely funny about that DH spray was the bit with Polec and M Voss... the rest was garbage, I'd almost put him in the campaigner company just for him bringing up the prelim. Lucky he was smashed out the door

Did anyone hear Gil on fiveaa tonight saying that the broadcasters had requested more AO Friday night games but because of a 'quirk' of the draw they couldn't do it? Of course neither Stephen Rowe or Bickley had the spine to question why a 'quirk' would mean Carlton would get 5 friday nights and Collingwood 6.

It's almost like the AFL are punishing ch 7 for being so shit.

By quirk I assume he means if we have the supposed big four vic clubs the tv audience is higher which increases our kpi's.

But wouldn't channel 7 know what's best in terms of getting a bigger tv audience? If the broadcaster requested it what excuse do they have? I think the AFL is just afraid to make waves. We saw the flood of tears and outrage that emerged when Collingwood were given a couple of rough timeslots last year.

it isnt the draw itself, its the draw software. it was hardcoded with collingwood/carlton/richmond/essendon and MCG/Etihard for 90% of friday nights and its too expensive to have it redone.

So far Gil's reign as head honcho can be remembered by

Cheaper pies at the mcg
His brother getting a regular gig in prime time as a commentator
Consolidation that even though he doesn't do the fixture anymore, he will continue to ensure the Camry crows get an easy draw

And: Quirks. Lots of quirks.
