..this, and...Most Hawks supporters I know are very very upset with any loss. They cry out for their achievements to be validated and anything that reflects poorly on their team is screamed down.
Oh the fun I had by linking the Hawks injection articles to work collegues during the height of the saga, and watch them rush to defend their team, reeling off stat after stat, accomplishment after accomplishment begging for approval, as if they were somehow dependent on it.
April 12th was a very good day.
...this, and, the fact that I've worked basically in their heartland since, you guessed it, August 2008...and yes. April 12 was a very good day indeed. The classic 'any history before 1961 doesn't count' arguement. They all make it

but nah there were only 10 teams back then...April 12 was a very good day indeed.
rage rageNot really sure 'got lucky' is the right way to put it though. Carlton were clearly the second best side overall, but form wise they lost their rag near the end of the year.Melbourne got lucky in 2000 - Carlton was clearly the second best side in 2000.

Melbourne, by contrast, were beating everyone as the finals approached. Carlton also choked away their final against Melbourne.
People may knock Caro, but at least she's never been a paid cheerleader for someone in the industry.
From the Robbo thread on the main board
"I'll be 46 by the time we're ready but god damn it I want some pink boston buns"I think this definitely belongs in here:

Nah, she's just a paid cheerleader for the industry, not 1 person within it.
You didn't read the "All Hail Frolickingvictories, New CEO" puff piece?
Yes. that's what I'm calling him.

Is that Robbo? If so, nope.
I just like the fact said person had the nerve to imply Caro isn't a cheerleader for anyone in the industry. The more I ponder that, the more I am convinced it was a troll.
Very handsome or something similar she described him asNo, Caro wrote a piece about how great whatsisface is.
And the pink ones made by Bakers Delight do raise money for Breast Cancer research. In fairness to Smurph, Boston buns are pretty ******* delicious.

All the Caros who independant, throw yo hands up at meOK, I'll bite for all the Essendon supporters laughing on the last page.
Who is Caro a spokesperson for? She certainly has barrows she likes to push - especially re James Hird and James Brayshaw.
But no-one can doubt that her opinions are her own - whereas Robbo is like the Chief PR Officer for the Bombers. Caro gives it to Richmond as much as anyone - probably moreso.
She might sometimes be a goose (and she is plenty of times). But she's an independent goose.
If you disagree, then tell me who she is in the tank for.
