Not every great player comes in and dominates immeadiately. Let's ease up on this bloke. He's come off a LTI there probably inst 100% trust in his body yet. It's practically his first season.
He was rated at number 10 for a reason i'll back our club to develop him to reach his potential. Not what the BF peanut gallery says about him.
Glad to have you onboard in the BF peanut gallery.
Seriously mate, that's exactly what this and other forums are all about, to provide opinions and debate on what we observe. I hope and still believe he'll be a great asset to our club, however there's obviously areas (like all players) that he needs to improve in. With his pre season work and form i think the long term injury excuse is no longer relevant. He should be pushing for selection now and most people here are providing opinions to why they think he is or isn't making the emergency list at the very least. You're obviously reading the peanut gallery, so you must be a little interested yourself!

Freeman will add something this side really lacks... Linebreakers, to be able to receive the ball from the likes of Adams and be able to break away from the contest at speed. Really looking forward to seeing him in action later this year

Yeah that's what he needs to do with more regularity because atm he isn't doing it much at all.

I'm part of the 'peanut gallery' mate it wasn't a term used to offend. I'm sorry if you have taken offence to it.
In the context it refers to people who are outside the club and can only judge on what we've seen through games and club media reports.

People need to relax and stop being so critical on Freeman, maybe some people have something about them to criticise people with the first name Nathan...

Anyway, this is basically his first year of footy. Last year he didnt play a game and had a horror year due to that persistent hamstring injury which he did in nab 1 v Geelong (mind you before he did that he was looking great!) i play footy myself and have experienced soft tissue injuries and i am a runner who plays generally on a wing and it can take a bit to get confidence in your body to take off and sprint knowing that it wont happen again.

Give him time, he has elite speed and elite endurance, he is still developing, i honestly have this really good feeling about Freeman that he will turn into a really good player.

He will be a very good player. As will De Goey, Moore, Sharenberg, Taylor Adams, Frosty and Langdon. The future is very bright people!

This is probably the most encouraging thing for mine. At the very least (and by no means this is my expectation of what he will turn out to be), he has the tools to be an elite run with player down the track. He's good in traffic too which would help there.

One thing I do like is that for the most part this year, he has had poor starts to games but has worked his way into them and finished them off well. Once he gets a bit of consistency he should be fine.

Ben Sinclair and Freeman would be the best comparison which doesn't excite me at all. Small and fast but skills aren't great. Since Sinclair got injured we've gone forwards.

That's a terrible comparison.. The Shuey comprarison is a good one.

I think we have to be a bit more patient with him than we realised, he's got a lot to learn and that's okay! He's 19 years old and played 2 games of VFL footy.

21. Nathan Freeman

Statistics
: 11 kicks, 5 mark, 10 handballs, 21 disposals, 1 clearance, 0 inside 50s, 1 rebound 50, 2 tackles
Tarkyn Lockyer says: Freeo’s ability to impact the game in tight, in traffic, is excellent. His clean hands and attack on the ball is very good and he is just continuing to grow in his role.

At least he's finding the ball..

Shocking comparison. Freeman is built like a tank and Sinclair is quite slight. Freeman's not small at all.

Only 1 clearance worries me a bit..

The only similarity between Sinclair and Freeman is their pace, literally everything else is very different. What a horrible comparison.

2nd year player coming back from a year long injury and instantly gets over 20 touches in the VFL... What exactly do you expect him to do? Rip the VFL in two after not playing for a year?

Im not having a go at him read back through my posts i was pointing out he currently isn't doing that..capish.

I didn't expect a lot out of Moore, Scharenberg, De Goey or Freeman as far as senior games goes this season.

If they play a total of 20 between them (so average of 5 each) I'd be satisfied, because the reality is they aren't ready for senior footy yet for varying reasons.

Scharenberg and Freeman are both like first year recruits with 12 extra months work into their bodies, so really we have 4 potentially elite first year players here, but we need to be patient.

What a ridiculous call. Sinclair was easily our best small defender before getting injured, and Freeman's skills are fine. He hits targets on a regular basis and is a good user in general.

It's like you don't even watch the game and then just spew some random crap out thinking you can fool people in to thinking you have a clue.
