Tell you what Harks, I feel reassured that SOS is stepping back and playing no part in our bidding for young Jack, that proves to me (as flimsy as it sounds) that SOS has enough common sense to rule with his head, not his heart.
Although I do believe Andrew McKay is the one who is more likely to part of the player trade dept (still got credit in the bank by me for turning Hampson into Docherty and a four pick downgrade for Andrejs Everitt, jury's out on the Jaksch trade, although I do believe it was the right decision to recruit Kristmad, considering Jamo's probably near the end and Rowe probably only has 3 years left)

I get a really positive vibe that The Vet and SOS are the right men to rebuild our club (based on more than blind faith I might add:) )

The vet has had a noose around his neck recently. Maybe that has been loosened recently. Who knows?

It's all SOS's fault, isn't it?

Why don't we give them some TIME. Pre-season the coach also thought we wouldn't lose a game. After 8 rounds looks like we wouldn't win a game and our coach is out the door. Now it's a caretaker coach, a new game plan, a new lease on life at the club.

****, these things don't happen over night. Try a little patience, it's good for ya.
I do understand where Peacock is coming from, it's just really not worded well.

I'm not happy that SOS came out and said after 8 games we have overpaid players, little youth and in full need of a rebuild, and is now singing a different tune.

Why did he need to come out to the public and say this? It was as bad as MM's public bashing of the players.

I wouldn't go as far as saying we are a "rabble", but mixed messages are still floating around.

If Kreuzer keeps improving and playing the way he has the last 2 weeks, Band 1 Compo may not be out of the question.
There is no way the club will seek to trade Matty....there would be a supporter revolt. The guy is the heart and soul of the club simple as that.

Beats me why that is, sure the Liam Jones trade was bad, but that was more of a player Mick wanted.

I strongly recall reading somewhere that McKay strongly advised Rogers to take Patrick Cripps in the 2013 national draft, a decision that's been our best piece of drafting business in well over than a decade.

With Nicky Graham (and hopefully Holman) coming along nicely, our club's drafting in the past few years has improved, I am confident Boekhorst and Clem Smith will be 150 plus gamers for us.

The Vet strikes me as a very intelligent bloke with great intuition, would be flabbergasted if we let a person of his talents go.

I'm not so sure about that and from what I heard (50 hands down) it was Temay, that McKay may have pushed on hard.

That may well be wrong though as everyone has a story............

Yeah but there's no hindsight required to evaluate what happened.

We over-reached, got caught with our pants around our ankles and had to pay members' monies to rectify the situation.............not smart.
So we should idly stand by for fear of failing? There's 18 teams in the comp and not enough talent to go around both on and off field - being bold sets us apart. You act as though this is unique to Carlton but the majority of clubs will fail, time and time again.

One should act according to what the reality may be. Trying to poach someone under contract may.................may have some repercussions..................like making a fool of oneself and having to pay overs to retain the person you were wanting to push out.

Not smart work in my book................but we all have different books. :)

No reality is set in stone, decisions change, or can be changed. Chasing Judd was a reach - sometimes reaching pays off. There were no repercussions, we retained our man, and then replaced him with someone better. All clubs leaks money like a sieve in some shape or form.

Had very little to do with any of these trades.

It all depends on money I suspect, the club probably won't offer him as much as other clubs will, given his injury history.

This may be the last big contract of Humphrey's career, I would dearly love him to stay but can't blame him if he leaves elsewhere to secure his financial future.

Richmond seem to be our biggest threat, and perhaps Essendon as well (Bellchambers has been awhile this season)

WWhy would his injuries cause us to offer less money but not other clubs? They would 've just as wary

Beagles are bloody adorable :hearts:

Pugs crossed with a beagle though....actually the cutest.

Cats are better, much better, more emotionally and intellectually stimulating pets :)
