No gtee as you might go deeper in finals
We might pay 600 for 2, then 400 for 3
Compo is based over the entire contract, not just a high salary at the start
Also why would Geelong intentionally bid enough to ensure an opposition got a 1st round pick?

Prefer the following.
Richmond:
Out - picks 14 & 32
In - Motlop & Yarran

Carlton:
Out - Yarran & Henderson
In - picks 12 & 28

Geelong:
Out - Picks 12 ontraded 28 Motlop
In - Henderson & 14

Everyone wins IMO

Geelong not getting enough back. Essentially having their first rounder downgraded for swapping Motlop for Henderson

sorry for the intrusion but you will not have 12 or 15, given there will be priority picks for leuenger and possibly selwood
your first pick could be 18 or 20, and that will not work
just like you will not accept collingwoods second round pick for vickery
So we are jumping West Coast on the ladder? Thanks for the vote of confidence.:thumbsu:

Talls cost more so to land Henderson they'd need to trade their best available pick. Downgrading 2 spots in the draft while landing Henderson Dangerfield and Selwood is a small price to pay.

Brereton said the other day the Hawks are sniffing around him.
And The hawks would be prepared to give up their 1st rnd pick for Yarran.Which would make them in the box seat against us anyway pick wise.So i dare say it would have to be a Griff for Yarran trade if we go down that path.

Where does 32 go??

Carlton wins, Geelong loses and we are probably about right. Ours are basically 2 separate individual trades anyway so the others can please themselves i guess.

I'd prefer Motlop and a kick in the nuts . Anyone who thinks Yarran will stand up in contested one on one footy , which comes during finals is deluded , he is mentally soft .

How are you not sure? He's worth no where near that. That's dusty wage for a Kane Lambert lol
Well they might be "paying" it to Scott but actually giving it to Joel.

I can't see Carlton accepting 12 and 28 for Yarran and Henderson. I think Carlton probably want something more like two late first rounders, maybe something like 12 and 20 would be acceptable but 28 is too low in a weak draft. Carlton pass IMO. They need more. Carlton may prefer a Richmond fringe player as opposed to 28.

Geelong effectively trade Motlop for Henderson. Motlop has offers at 750k. No one will get him for 550k. He is leaving for money, nothing else. Henderson just wants out of Carlton and has been offered about 500k by Geelong. I can't see how Motlop on 750k is worth Henderson at 500k in their opinion plus a pick downgrade. That is saying Motlop is worth less than Henderson. Geelong pass IMO.

Richmond do very well. I think if they could get Motlop for 14 and 32 they would be happy. Let alone throwing in Yarran who is worth a late first rounder for free. I think it would be more like Motlop for 14 and 32 and a seperate trade of Richmond's 2016 for Yarran (which will probably be a late first rounder in a stronger draft). Geelong can trade will Carlton separately which will likely involve a late first rounder.

So in a three way (so it is comparable) something like:

Richmond
Out: 14, 32 (or fringe player), 2016 first
In: Motlop, Yarran

Carlton
Out: Henderson, Yarran
In: 14, 2016 First (Richmond)

Geelong
Out: Motlop
In: Henderson, 32 (or fringe player)

Now Carlton win and Richmond lose.

Maybe Carlton send back a late second rounder/early third rounder to Richmond then but I think with progression I think Richmond's 2016 pick will lucky to be below 15 after you consider compensation picks etc. I would think it will likely be in the 15-20 range. Yarran for 15-20 is right IMO but wouldn't be against a late 2nd/early third if you think that is required. Certainly not a deal breaker for Carlton IMO.

Yarran will be 25, and in his best season averaged 16 touches. That is not worthy of a first round pick. Nobody is trading on potential anymore with Yarran.

Its the same with Jack Watts.

I highly doubt the hawks will give up their first rounder for Yarran, unless its a trade down. Say there first for Carltons 2nd and then throw in the Hawks 2nd.

Basically

Hawks get Yarran and pick 21
Blues get pick 17-18 and pick 36-39 (depending on compo)
